Well I just got done installing the VP12 VOLO Performance Chip yesterday and it seems to have resolved my idling issue. It is true that the VOLO changes your fuel mapping and therefore the idle is set a bit higher. This resulted in a better gas pedal reaction. The Pathy now has a much better and smo...

But even then the ECM should adjust for the power loss and raise the RPM's!

Does your rpm shoot up (say, over 1000) when you initially start the vehicle? Oh yes. The mechanic said that this was normal as well. I see mine go to 1500RPM's and then it will slowly make its way down to 1000RPM's if you wait about 15 to 20 sec. Then for the first few miles of driving it will lan...

Lucky for me I just bought mine and will probably have it for the next 10 years. But what then? Maybe they will revert back to truck frame like they did the last time.

Idle Irregularities

I started an earlier thread :? called "Bad Gas" which has now evolved into another question that I would like to have answered if possible. Every time I stop at an intersection my RPM's will drop from 750 to 625 after about 15 to 20 seconds and the motor vibrates  like it is starvin...

Before I could say "don't waste time thinking that diesel will EVER find it's way into a PF....." CarandDriver to the rescue. I'm not going to discount something simply because it's "unibody" as the Jeeps have done a pretty good job over the years. BUT when you throw in things l...

Well, got my new code reader today and it showes no DTC codes presently. Back to square one. She continues to idle in a bad way. If the RPM's are at 750 it feels fine but then after about 15 sec it will drop to 600 RPM's and the motor will vibrate and shake the whole truck but will not stall. It doe...

I'd take me some of this in a BOF Pathy: http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2011/05/cummins-feds-developing-four-cylinder-diesel-for-nissan-titan.html We have contemplated going full-size for towing purposes. However, I can't justify a 3/4 tonne truck with an almost 7L displacement for 5% of my driving. ...

You can never go wrong by taking the car to a Nissian Dealer and pay them $100 to go over it and tell you what needs to be done. If you are like me it is a big investment and you would want to know if it will last. :D If you really want to be sly take it for a spin and plug in a code reader to see w...

You can find them on line for $.70 or get them from the dealer for $1.00. I know it seems petty but if the instructions say to do it you should.

The Nissan pics look like the next Armada and QX54 and not Pathfinder.

That is not necessarily true Skinny2. You can get better MPG on a standard tranny over automatic any day. Check some manufacturer sites that offer both in a vehicle and you'll see that the standard is usually rated at a MPG more than the automatic. An example is the VW Golf. A standard 5 speed retur...

Thanks bbermann. I think my next step is to invest in a code reader or scanner. I saw one on amazon a Equus 3130 Innova Diagnostic Code Scanner with Live, Record and Playback Data Capability for OBDII Vehicles for $128. My truck is only been in my possession for the past 2 mos. Seems silly that it w...
