Replace plugs, oil,coolant and transmission flush (crossing my fingers on this) They looked at the fluid and then determined it was dark and overall no warning signs of problems. Did overall inspection including brakes etc..(105,000 mile checklist) just curious - how many quarts of transmission flu...

Carl, just out of curiousity is the rear window wiper in that garage picture mounted on the top of the window and swings down? Just wondering when they changed it from mounted on the bottom of the rear window.

Not a bad idea, and yeah the trucks had more than it's share if problems. although I do like the dealer diagnosis. Yeah, Im thinking taking it apart is the next logical step, which will have to wait a few days anyhow but seems necessary

EDIT: just went to get in, same thing happened except the pin is still intact, door is frozen open and i cannot move the latch to fix it until it defrosts. Last night i used penetrating oil, sylicone grease etc on it. I guess it didn't work. Any ideas from here?

Don't worry, our R51's have a physical locking gear for 4WD, unlike those POS 2013 "pathfinder" (<--- roadfinder is more accurate)

Turns out the metal pin the plastic latch rotates around had somehow (?????) sheared off so the latch itself was just sort of sitting there.
