Someone correct me if i'm wrong (i probably am, on this subject anyways) but on the type of e-brake on our pathys, doesn't it simply engage the brakes, as opposed to completely locking the back wheels like a "true" e-brake?

Yeah. Looks like its time for an expensive mechans trip. And I think you're right, because the grinding only happened when the weight of the vehicle changed suddenly. Now is this something that could just break? Just because ive made similar maneuves before with no noise at all.

Just something to consider, are you resting your foot on the gas pedal? if you are, as soon as it detects pressure it cancels cruise AFAIK.

Yes. Yours are probably rounder while the ones you want are rectangular.

I suppose, but i wanted it to look factory.
If you do it right, or have a professional do it who does clear bra installs, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The quality of vinyls have come a long way.
