2* timing advance for the Pathfinder V8

Im reading in the armada forum guys swearing buy the "Two degree timing Advance". Has anyone on the pathfinder done this? It sounds like a good performance mod with really no drawbacks. Apparently its just a setting in the ECU. Our engines allow 2 degrees more timing. The only drawback I r...

The v6 crowd allready the better gear ratio that the v8 is lacking. I cant remember what it is but its around 3.3. They are different differentials alltogether so they are not direct replacements. Probably doable though.

I cant wait for this mod. I have been looking for Armada diffs all day onling at work today! I also found out a stock 2008 armada did 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. Thats the same as are pathfinder V8's and almost 1000lb heavier. Just shows you how much gearing matters. Will keep you guys updated on the swap.

I probably wont go with any bigger tires. Im doing this primarily because I think the gearing is WAY to tall on this vehicle. The towing and overall performance could be so much more in my opinion with adequate gearing. Im glad to hear you confirm the performance gains with your switch. I am going t...

That really is an impressive rig. You must have spent a lot of time on that. So from what I have read It looks like I will be able to bolt in a set of Armada 3.36 frint and rear. Now I just need to find a willing shop and someone who wants to switch!

Can someone chime in who knows for sure on this? Can I swap out my gears with a pathfinder V6 or would it have to be an armada?

I believe the V6 pathfinder has a different diff altogether. The V8 has a heavier diff used in the Armada.

Swapping Armada diffs for better performance?

I know our V8 pathfinders share the same diffs as the armadas. I am so annoyed with our tall diff ratios that the pathfinder V8 has. The Armada 4X4 has a 3.3 ratio while we have a 2.93 I believe. Thats a significant difference. Has anyone ever swapped these gears?

Not on the highway it wont. The V8 has horrible highway gears. Taller tires will make it worse. Thats my big knock on my pathfinder so far. I can understand having one tall highway gear but 4th gear is hardly any different.

Thanks perpetual that solved my problem. Its amazing how bad and inept dealers and younger techs are at troubleshooting. Now i just have to focus on the doors.

Perpetual, Thats exactly the noise you described. For lack of a better term it sounds like an old fashion "geiger counter" in the movies. Its very annoying and even passengers ask what it is. Im exited to look at the solution you mentioned. The dealer here is convinced its behind the dash ...

Yea last week I taped off my intake great near the windhsield wipers. I get a distinct rattle on the highway that is clearly wind related. It soulnds like its coming from the windshield wiper area. I cant figure it out for the life of me. I will tape the doors next. I have not found any aftermarket ...
