U1000 is a CAN (contolled area network) communitcation code. You would need a capable scantool to diagnose that further. I'm wondering if you may have a bad IPDM/ER. You may want to call Nissan to see if there are any outstanding recalls for your Pathy. Here's a description of the starting system: S...

Nope. It's not a self-adjusting tensioner. Timing belts stretch very little and shouldn't develop enough slack to be a problem between recommended replacement intervals. There are some engines that do have a self adjusting tensioner, like the Z32 V6 or some Toyotas, but not all.

If you remember, Toyota wasn't very forthcoming in their "unintended accelleration" issues until the media started reported it and the NHTSA got involved. IMO, they are both just as bad.

There is no filter to service; Nissan, like many Asian makes, uses a screen that is, for the most part, just left alone. To service, just remove the drain plug and drain and refill. Typical refill is about 4-1/2 quarts US. Start with 4 liters and top off as needed once running and warmed up.

Technical service bulletins are realeased to aid technicians in diagnosing a particular concern and/or providing them with a "fix" or updated information. They are not campaigns or recalls, which in most cases are "free," but may have time limitations to the free repair.

New fluid will never damage a transmission so long as it's the correct type. If a transmission fails after a fluid replacement and assuming it was done correctly, it would have failed in due time, anyway. Nissan calls for genuine Nissan Type "D" ATF in your trans, which is essentially orig...

I wouldn't worry about it. It will likely drop down to the oil pan where it will lie on the bottom or get stuck to the oil pickup screen. It shouldn't cause any damage to the engine.

A bad driveshaft U-joint could cause either one of those symptoms. So could excessive play in the rear differential.

It does look great, but my only concern would be the legality of doing away with the passenger air bag light. There is plenty of room on the other side of the finisher, though, so maybe that would be an option?

Would this effect a 2011 V6 4.0L? Had there been any modifications to the newer model years that would make this a non issue or should I still do the bypass at 80000 miles? The 2011 and later models are not known for this problem. The extended warranty from Nissan on the radiators included 05-10 Pa...

I've heard they updated the radiator and still used the original P/N and later came out with the updated P/N. So, with the old P/N, you can't be sure if you have an old style taking out of old stock or an updated radiator. Since the NHTSA is finally investigating the radiator situation, it might not...

I doubt that it's the fuel pump causing this as it gets cooled by the fuel in the tank, but the only way to be sure would be to test the fuel pressure with a gauge while the incident is occuring. Crank or cam sensor failure is possible and can be temperature related and not always set a trouble code...
