The P0420 is a catalyst efficiency code, detected when the ECM does see a significant differance in the rich/lean cycling between the front and rear O2 sensors. It often indicates that the catalytic converter between those two sensors is in need of replacement. Since you have another issue, I would ...

When you turn the key "on," the cluster performs a "bulb check" which illuminates the warning lamps on the cluster. If the "MIL" doesn't illuminate during the bulb check, there is a problem with the circuit and should cause a code to set in the ECM memory. The cluster i...

Sounds like an aftermarket radiator for sure; if it were the original radiator, it would have a "Calsonic" label on the top of the tank.

Nissan MSRP is $137.17 for the washer reservoir, which includes two new pumps, so your dealer is bangin' you pretty hard! You can get the reservoir online from 1stAAANissanParts.com for $99.17 plus shipping. If that's still too high, I agree that finding a used one from a salvage yard would be a goo...

Make sure you have allen sockets as the drain plugs; I think they were 10mm. I used Walmart's synthetic 75W90 gear oil for both the front and rear diffs. I use Valvoline Maxlife ATF in the R51 transmissions and transfer cases and it's always worked fine.

If you disconnected the battery at any time, the Idle Air Volume will usually need to be relearned or rough and/or erratic idle can occur; this is easiest done with a scantool capable of this function. Another cause of vibration in these vehicles at idle is the motor mounts; there is a TSB on the is...

You may also want to install a set of Airlift 1000 air bags for the rear suspension. Even if you don't tow, they are a great addition for the R51's rear suspension. You can get them for around $85 from Amazon.com.

Also, find out what was wrong with the old transmission. Talk to the dealer's service dept. and/or technician that replaced the trans. Ask if it was due to an internal mechanic failure of the transmission or due to coolant contamination of the fluid.

It certainly sounds like it could be and ignition problem. The ignition coil, cam sensor and power transistor are all integral of the distributor as assy., so your mechanic should have replaced the entire distributor. So, the ignition timing could be off or even the distributor a tooth off during th...

You can submit an inquiry online to Nissan at this site:

http://www.nissanusa.com/apps/contactus/recall

Or, you could always just call your local Nissan's service dept. with your VIN# and have them look it up for outstanding campaigns, or Nissan's customer hotline, 1-800-NISSAN-1.

There was a pretty hefty grille guard offered from Nissan for the WD21 Pathys; brush guards were also available that bolted to the side of the grille guard.

You shouldn't need to add unless there's a leak in the system. As far as the performance, you'll need to get a set of high and low pressure AC gauges to see what the pressures are and compare them, along with the vent temp output, with the specs given in the factory service manual AC performance test.

Of course there could be a problem... The only way to know is to make a thorough inspection and isolate the exact cause of the noise. If it happens during hard turns, grease the steering stops on the lower control arms. Otherwise, check your shocks and torsion bars, stabilzer bar bushings and links ...
