You could do that. One thing about Crutchfield is that they give you detailed installation instrutctions, adapter harnesses and brackets when required and free, lifetime tech support in case you run into any problems with your purchase. Hardest part is removing the door panels and that's not too bad!

It's prob not much different than the earlier models. On them, you remove the clips on the top of the grille that attach it to the radiator support. Then there are several clips that you use a flat blade screw driver to turn 90 degrees to release the middle area of the grille. Then, put your hand be...

It all depends on what capabilities you want. If you only want something to read and erase OBD II "P-codes," then Walmart sells one for around $65 that works fine. If you want something to read freeze frame data or datastream data, then it'l be considerably more.

The A/C is not going to turn "on" anyway because there is no freon in the system. The pressure switch will keep the compressor clutch from engaging. So, just drive it.

Since they are only coolant lines, why not just cut the area and use a piece of heater hose and clamps to fix it, rather than "cap off" the lines?

With a Consult II or similarly capable generic scan tool, the idle air volume can be relearned and the target idle can be adjusted, as well. I would recommend this before replacing a throttle body. A lot of times after cleaning the throttle body an IAV relearn must be performed.

make sure the timing belt's been done; it's due at 105,000 miles.

Hard to say without knowing what's going on with it! Freon low? Mode door issue? Fan clutch not working properly or restricted airflow through condensor core?

Well, 'these days,' adjusting the timing isn't possible on the majority of vehicles made...but your Pathy was made over a decade ago and timing is adjustable. It's possible to get reasonably close, but you can't tell if the timing is exact or not without a timing light. Spec is 15 degrees (+/-2) BTDC.

As far as I know, it's just a 4-pin trailer harness kit.

There's a 4-pin trailer wiring harness that is available for the R50's and the fuse is used for it. Here's a link to the kit:

The wiring is probably the same, the question is whether it will be compatable with your BCM. All the headlamp switch does is route power through a series of resistors which changes the input voltage to the BCM. Based on what that voltage is, the BCM performs the function(s). You can get a new switc...

I left Nissan late in 2003. Back then the issue would occur on some other models, like the Altima. Usually this problem could be attributed to one of two things. First, the remote transmitter (or "fob"). If this problem occurs on a regular basis, try removing the battery from the remote an...

The problem is with the R-134 cans you buy at the stores is that the ones with the gauge only have a low side gauge. In a case like this, I would definately want to see the high pressure readings. So, unless one has a set of R-134a AC pressure gauges, he's be better off letting a shop do it that has...

I don't remember the R51's having steering stops to grease like the older Pathy's. I'll have to look next time I'm under my truck! What's a steering stop? Older Pathy's and Nissan trucks used steering stops to limit the travel of the wheel as you turn it, so it doesn't hit the wheel well or the knu...
