All of the horn issues on the R51/D40/R50 Nissans have been due to bad clockspings. You do NOT want to cut open the air bag module! If it's the contacts in the module, I would highly recommend replacing the air bag module. Hopefully, that's not your problem!

If you want to save the manifold heat shield and reinstall it on a V6 R51, you have to unbolt the motor mount and raise up the passenger side of the engine to get it out in one piece. If you are referring to the mounting bolts, then, no, they do not go into oil galleries. Most likely source would be a leaking valve cover gasket, but not the only possibility.
