Re: Gear Shift Sticks

I had a similar issue on my 2008. It turned out to be the micro-switch in the shifter assembly. When you move the shifter into "PARK," it pushed a little lever on the switch which allows the shift interlock to receive voltage and release with the brake pedal released. I had to remove the switch and ...

Re: Squirrel nest inside my HVAC!

Better the nest than the whole squirrel, which is what I found in the blower cage of my 08 Pathy several years ago. Yes, the smell was nasty! Who knows how long he was laying in the cage, spinning around and around?! If you sprinkle a little Carpet Fresh deodorant on the top side of the cabin filter...

Re: Nitto Terra Grappler

Nitto Tires is a subdivision of Toyo Tires and they are pretty good! The Terra Grapplers share the same tire construction with the Toyo Open Country.

Re: P0420 but front left cat rattles

I would replace both upstream converters if I were you. They may have been cheap, but they only lasted 3-years, so...? I've had good success with Walker Ultra converters from Rockauto; mine are 7-yrs old and still doing good. I deleted my rear converters with Doug Thorley mid-pipes. I would also not...

Re: Manifold crack :[

V8's are pretty rare on the whole of the R51 production, so rather than say it's not common on R51's, it would be more accurate to say it is a common problem on the VK56DE engine, regardless of application. I wouldn't say that the aftermarket versions are any worse nor any better than the OE manifol...

Probably didn't affect the canister. I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Radiator air lock

Yes, it will, because it impedes the coolant flow to the reservoir. Replace it with the correct cap. If the correct cap won't fit the new radiator, some have addressed the issue by cutting off the spring. The only cap that should have a spring on it is the one on top of the coolant reservoir in this...

Re: 2008 Rear blower issues

The updated it by putting a larger heat sink on it to help cool it. Aftermarket replacements are hit and miss. The reason it won't shut off is because it is in fail safe mode. If it's the rear blower that is constantly on, then your new part has failed. My advice is get one from Nissan.

Re: Radiator air lock

Make sure you don't have the reservoir cap, which is the pressure cap in the system, mixed with the radiator cap, which will NOT have a plunger nor spring on the bottom of it. Top off the radiator and install the cap. Fill the coolant level in the reservoir to the "MAX" line on the side of it. Jack ...

Re: XTP intake spacer installed

Some fit by just threading the bolts into the plenum so that they sorta "clamp" the top of the bracket. I did that with mine, but the bolt holes were actually a little under the top of the bracket, so I had to round file a lit bit of the bracket away to allow the bolts to thread in without any issues.

Re: Rear heating lines as a leak risk?

If the coolant lines get capped, which there is really no reason to do, you will lose heat, not A/C. Frequency of rear heater use makes no difference. Sand and dirt get stuck between the pipes and the rubber insulator at the brackets, which scatches through the pipe over time and makes it leak. A qu...

Depends on the dealer. It should be a one hour labor charge to do the reprogram. "Should" being the key word!
