I finished the install when I got home, and yeah, the gas springs DID compress when they were attached. (I was just a little worried.) That hatch flings open now!
I ordered those 9416K149 struts from McMaster-Carr. They don't seem to want to compress. Is there a trick to getting them going? (On a positive note, this seems to be a really short job - 10-15 mins).
My climate control fans (I assume?) are extremely noisy. I can't tell if it's better or worse winter vs. summer. It sounds like a "whirring" behind the vents. It seems to let up when a door is opened. It certainly didn't do this when the Pathfinder was new. Has anyone else experienced this?

thanks, hfrez. yeah, that is the thread that got me started. i'm confused how to wire dpdt switch. it is not making one shred of sense to me. on two connectors i have down are the "blank" one and the ground.
