Ok well the trip is done and we are back home and I got about 20.5 and stuck to 70 mph.

There were some road works where I had to go 50 and then some areas where I went 75 so averaged out to 70 mph.

We are travelling to Orlando next week for a week at Disney, this is our first road trip in the PF (4.0 V6) and it's about 450 miles from my house to Disney , it will be interstate all the way.

I worked it out 450/21 (gallons) is about 21.5 MPG so if we can get above that and make it ...

Cabin air filter was black....I'll run by autozone and get them tomorrow morning although I doubt that will fix the issue.

Assuming it is the antifreeze, whatever chemical causes that smell - is it detrimental to health if AC is used for extended periods of time?

I let the PF run while I was installing new floor mats, a good 15 mins with the ac on full blast.

Smell is as strong as ever inside the cabin, nothing on the outside - no coolant leak on the ground, quite a bit of water condensation but that is to be expected.

Over the past few days when running the AC I've noticed that sweet maple/honey smell in the cabin, I can;t smell it on the outside.

Tranny bypass has been done and there are no visible leaks on my garage floor.

Any ideas?

Ran the truck to autozone, its the fuel cap.

Give it 50 miles it will go away.

So I have had my 2007 Pathfinder for about a month now and loving it.
About to hit 62K miles on the clock and on comes the SES light.

Transmission bypass was done without any problems.
Fuel Cap is on tight, Fuel Gauge showing correct and DTE is showing correct too.

This is a great idea!
I bought my 06 PF SE 2 weeks ago with 60k on the clock and thank God the ATF is not strawberry milkshake and bypass has been completed.

drain and fill sounds so easy.....I am a complete novice, is there a guide out there for those of us who are mechanically challenged?

Just drain the fluid into a bucket/jug and then put an equal amount of new fluid back in, where does it drain from and where do I fill it! lol

So we lost a little bit of ATF when performing the bypass.
Not enough to get worried about replacing it but what y'all think of the color?

From what I have read it sounds like this is burnt and time to be replaced.

Ok so I did the ATF bypass.
Just a few questions....

So the closed loop will just have the same ATF fluid going through it until I change out the radiator?

I live in North West Florida so from May to September it is 90F+.
At what point should I be worried that the bypass may cause damage?

I did post this in the tranny bypass thread but I should probably get a thread of my own.

I recently bought my 2007 PF SE with 61k miles.

Coolant is as green as can be, I haven't checked the ATF yet and the bypass will be performed later on in the week.

I've noticed a bump/jerk at around 40 to 45 ...
