I'm so jealous! I wish I didn't have to fix something stupid on mine long enough to be able to spend some time and money on something fun. I can't stay ahead of this thing! :(

That sounds like what mine does, too, except mine "wobbles" in addition when I labor it (which the dealer says is normal). My wife's Jetta does the exact same thing unless I shift into Sport mode (which the Pathy doesn't have). With modern automatics it seems like a race to short shift thr...

Thanks for the replies! Not sure about the bands - I'll have to get under there and check. I feel like some of the exhaust had been replaced when I bought it used from the dealer (it had that "new weld" smell when it got hot). I'm glad to hear it's probably normal. I can definitely live wi...

Does your exhaust click constantly?

Hey guys, When you're idling, does your exhaust click constantly? When I'm sitting in a drive through or something my exhaust clicks in incessantly--sort of like when you turn your car off after a long trip and it clicks from heat/cooling expansion or something... except mine doesn't stop clicking w...

My wife's Jetta has a bad chain tensioner (very common problem for VWs as well) and a full synthetic oil change quiets the rattling for a few thousand miles. It doesn't lessen the likelihood of jumping a sprocket and wrecking the valves but the chain noise does get quieter.

My pleasure! It's $165.25 and part number 90502-ZS00A (you have to ask for it by number because apparently it's not a normally categorized part).

Found the pics from when I installed this thing. Here is the whole inside of the door. Bottom of the hatch (latch) is at the top. http://i49.tinypic.com/2wps6e8.jpg Here is the door lock and window latch mechanism (glass is to the left of the picture -- not sure why it uploaded sideways). http://i46...

Sorry, here's a version of the picture that's not designed to be seen from space. I flipped my truck around onto its roof to take this picture. Kidding, it's upside down.

How do you drain trans fluid?

I'm at 79K miles and wanted to check my transmission fluid for contamination. How do you drain the transmission fluid without having it go all over that beam that's perfectly covering the plug? http://i46.tinypic.com/2j5kggz.jpg So I unscrewed the plug just enough for the fluid to seep (drip) out on...

I agree with the above.

Bummer you're having such problems. I can tell you that while I curse my '08 daily, the one thing it does do well is drive straight and true on the highway. And I'm super picky about alignment.

Ah, excellent. I'll look for that TSB. Thanks! Though it looks flush when it's closed, there's definitely something amiss. Skinny2: I tested it with and without the deflector this weekend and there's almost no difference in wind noise when the roof is open. I don't really like the look of the deflec...

Can sunroof be adjusted?

My '08 has a factory wind deflector over the sunroof that I removed (hate the way it looks and it just traps leaves and dirt). Problem is that there's now a bowling noise at highway speeds. I'm thinking it has something to do with the way the glass rests when in the closed position. Is there a way t...

I always joke that my window motor is a V8 because when I roll my window up or down the whole door flexes.

Funny, I play games with my economy chart on long trips. Keeps me entertained for hours! :) Keep in mind that the fuel consumption estimate is just an estimate based on some basic factors (speed and throttle position). It does not factor things like engine problems, exahaust problems, fuel type, etc...
