"By and large customer service is horrid anymore." Agreed. I used to only take my cars to the dealership, thinking they know it better. Now I know better. I get my oil changed at Jiffy Lube because if I'm going to get crappy service from someone who could care less about me (or my car), I ...

Yeah, hard lesson for me and that is in their return policy. Just a heads up to you guys if you're like me and don't typically read through a page of policies before ordering. I bought the pump with the intention of replacing it myself. Being that it's fuh-reezing outside and work got crazy, I took ...

Courtesy Nissan Returns -- a heads up

Just so you guys know, Courtesy only accepts returns on items which do NOT have any electrical components. Anything containing any sort of electrical component is sold on an "All Sales Final" basis. For example, if you buy the wrong sun visor and want to return it, they'll take it (with a ...

Ugh, I have no idea -- I took it to a mechanic and it wouldn't make the sound. And it hasn't made it since! I have a good feeling you guys are right about the starter not disengaging. I listen for it every time I start the car and the next time I hear it I'm going to crawl underneath. I'm waiting fo...

Sounds like you might be on the right track. Here's what I'd do (in this order): 1. Check fluid level 2. Flush fluid and bleed system 3. Listen for strange noises (loud, whiny pump, swishing) 4. Have the pump diagnosed I've never replaced one on the pathfinder but I did one on an old Volvo and it wa...

Questions re Increasing tire size

Hey guys, A couple of questions for the guys who have increased tire size... I'm thinking about increasing my tire wall size in hopes that the ride will not be as harsh, so: 1. Have you noticed a difference in ride quality when going up in tire size? 2. Does increased tire size affect speedometer ac...

Great thoughts, and I was thinking bearing, too. The sound doesn't change with the rev of the engine, so it's got to be something that doesn't relate to engine RPMs (if that's possible)? Pullies look okay at first glance. I'm going to get e stethoscope and try to get a more exact location when it ha...

In case anyone needs this part, it's not shown (or listed) in the standard Nissan parts diagram, so you have to physically type it in. A guy from Courtesy was awesome enough to call around to find someone who had it in stock to verify the part number and that it did, indeed, differ from the others i...

What's this sound?

Well, it's a new day and, as expected, a new weird sound coming from my Pathfinder.

Anyone know what this is? (see video)

It's an '08 V8. The sound is only there sometimes and I can usually make it go away by restarting the engine.

It's a bad sensor. That was one of the first things I had go wrong with mine. The tire pressure light came on and my little in-dash monitor showed the incorrect pressure in one of the tires. Took it to the dealer who replaced it under warranty, saying it's common. If I remember correctly, the invoic...

I like it... killing a Transformer slowly. Ha! The buzzing is almost a whirring sound that stays constant regardless of the engine speed. Definitely coming from some type of motor. I recognize the sound from when my Jetta's fuel pump went. It's the sound of "borrowed time" before a no-star...

This car is draining me!

Just venting here... I had a 2001 VW Jetta Wagon that ran like a champ. Not counting maintenance items, the only major things that ever broke were the fuel pump, alternator, and a clutch -- around 250,000 miles. So, in an attempt to do the "smart" thing, I traded the Jetta for something &q...
