OK I looked up some stuff and see that in addition to the gearing the HP is a bit different as well as TQ: 2006 - HP 270 TQ 291 2012 - HP 266 TQ 288 Are there any economical mods to increase say to HP300 TQ320ish? Hard to believe that the gearing difference mentioned above can make that much differe...

2006 vs 2012 06 feels noticeably quicker?

Good morning! Is my seat dino messed up or is my 06 pathfinder noticeably quicker than my 12? I picked up a 2012LE with low miles a few months back in A1 condition with only 45k miles! The one thing I noticed right off the bat is the 12 feels like its been castrated compared to my 06 even with 240k ...

Navigation Update?

Is there a way other than taking the vehicle to a Nissan dealer to update the Navigation on our pathfinders?

Thanks

I just bought a 12 LE in mint condition with low miles 45k. Its here to replace my 06 SE with 238k when the time comes. The 06 SE has been rock solid requiring only maintenance work. It has not had any of the "severe" issues mentioned on this site. I did by-bpass the tranny-cooler and had ...

Sounds like a full replacement will be needed. I/we did change out the front before with a ball joint press with no issues. I have a friend who's equipped with a lift and torches so perhaps we can just burn it all off and put new bolts etc. on. This truck is at its end of life with 237k mi so I'm no...

Rear Ball Joints?

Can just ball joints be replaced in the rear top and bottom, or do we have to purchase the complete control arm assembly?

Mine are toast! and eating tires from negative camber?

Thanks
Pete

I would stick to conventional 80w90 on the front. Sometimes the seals aren’t designed to handle the synthetic fluid. For the rears, do use 75w90 synthetic. I've been using 75W90 full synthetic gear oil in my front diffs. The 2006 has 203,000 miles on it and I've been using the 75W90 in the front ...

I frequent ClubFrontier's forums quite a bit. Not long ago, they had a member with a 2013 Frontier that experienced the radiator cooler failure. Again, they are very rare after 2010, but one pops up every now and then. That said, I've yet to hear of a single aftermarket radiator that has had an iss...

Congratulations! The chain issue was long fixed in 2009 and the radiator issue was supposedly fixed by 2010 as well. You might want to check the radiator p/n#. I have the 21460 - 9CA3A which is supposedly safe. The -ZL11A are the ones that are said to be prone to the SMOD. Lucky you finding a LE. I...

Oh boy, I was under the impression they fixed the radiator issue from 2010 on? When the dealer replaced ours in 2010 I asked the tech to leave the bypass in place just in-case because I couldn't find enough information at that time to feel comfortable enough that it was in fact resolved. 1) More co...

Looking at 2011 or 2012 PF's

Hi All! We currently have a reliable 2006 SE that is at 237k now and well its had a toll taken on it by our Ohio winters. It still pulls like a freight train though and has been by far the most reliable SUV we have had. I want to get a newer model prior to the change of the 13's and am wondering if ...

Post subject: U-Joint play - how much is too much?

If its vibrating that will eventually drive you nutz! I replace mine soon as they start vibrating. My 2006 had gone through a few of these over the years. I wonder if the later years go through them as quick?

Does anyone know if the radiator problem has been fixed yet? The one on my 06PF just failed and I had it replaced with the Nissan radiator. I did the bypass early on so there was no worry about my tranny. This radiator did not fail where the trans cooler/heater? is located in the bottom. The upper p...
