I havent heard of any problems with sludging. I dont think anyone will have sludging probs as long as the oil gets changed like its supposed to. I run Mobil 1 in my Pfinder, I have since I bought it at 16,000 miles. I havent removed the valve cover but I do look down inside when I take the oil cap o...

Re: Overheating of the PF cabin

Coopers postings of rolling down all four windows kind of reminded me of a problem that I've noticed with this low roof line PF in that if sitting in the sun the interior gets really hot really quick... ...We only get a few really hot sunny days in this part of Canada, but if I was living further s...

Wow, I hear the same noise too. I think it has been there since I bought my Pfinder. I only hear it after moving forward when I first put it in gear. If I have my radio on, I dont hear it... or at least, I dont notice it. I worried about it when I first noticed it but it hasnt gotten worse. I guess ...

It literally snaps on or off. There are two tabs that you can reach with your fingers that are inside the Nissan logo circle.

How are all of you calculating your mileage? Are you just looking at the dash readout, or are you manually running the numbers? Also, has everyone verified that their speedo's are true? I'm only asking because on some long downmountain stretches, I've seen my MPG readout shoot up to 28, but when al...

When the truck is cold and off. Fill the radiator if not full. Then start the truck with the radiator cap off. When you see the water flowing, put the cap back on and check where the temp gauge is at. That should be your normal operating temp. It should be around 180F according to the manual. It sh...

Temp guage variations?

How much variation in temp do you see normally? As long as I am moving, it stays on the same spot on the guage. Like this... http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/ScotF/sm007.jpg Just about anytime I sit at idle it starts to go up pretty quickly... like in a drive thru or stuck in some stop and go tr...

PFhopefull, Keep your eye out for Nissan factory certified PFinders. I bought my '05 from a Nissan dealer with 16,400 miles and one owner. I had a weekend set aside where I was going to hit 3 surrounding cities to check out about 10 different PF's. I ended up buying the first one I looked at. After ...

I had rented a Pfinder while my '96 Astro van was in the shop. I instantly liked the power of it. I didnt get serious about buying one until about a year later. Things that made me purchase my PF besides the initial driving impression... V6 with more HP and better fuel economy than the V8 4Runner. D...
