Update

It wasn't the 'fan clutch' afterall. Turns out, and i'm embarassed to say, it was that my coolant was about 3quarts low. (Even the auto shop missed that one). But yeah, evidently when the engine gets too hot it has a cut-off feature. Once i added the coolant - it ran normally. unfortunately, i had a...

Engine cut-off with Hot Temp.

My 99 PF started stuttering, while driving, after getting warm/hot, and while accelerating at around 2,000 rpm. It wouldn't quite out-right but felt like engine wanting to stall, if I let off the gas or slowed, it'd run normal again. at first, I thought it had to do with accelerating going up-hill. ...

Hi, My PF threatens to shutdown (stutters) after warmed-up/hot, and accelerating. Mechanic says it cause the Temp. gauge pegged and the 'engine cutoff' mechanism. Engine Sutter

Does it stutter all the time or only when warm/hot?
My 99 PF, threatens to shutdown when hot and accelerationg (up hill).
Mechanic said it the Temp. gauge being pegged cause my 'Fan clutch' needs replaced - fan not cooling engine.
