Thanks for the reply but if you'll note in the original post, I mentioned that this SB was performed by my local dealer. Unfortunately it did not help.

The car exhibits the exact behavior as described in the SB, plus a shudder at low RPM as I mentioned in the OP.

Trans issue. When in full lockup and low RPM

08 Pathfinder 4.0 4x4 72,000 miles When driving around 40mph, and at low RPM with the transmission in full lockup (around 1200 rpm) the transmission will sometimes shudder when I advance the throttle. If it was a stick, i'd say it feels like the clutch is slipping and grabbing again. If I advance th...

I might have to check that...

I get (very) quiet birds chirping from the belt/pulleys for a few minutes after a start on a cold morning, but it goes away when warmer or if the temp is above 50 degrees. Haven't tracked it down yet

AC compressor hard engage

The AC compressor on my 08 4.0L pathfinder makes a little more racket when it engages than I think it should. You can really feel it hit and the motor makes more vibrations as it feels like it is not running smoothly due to having a load at low RPM. I haven't used the AC much - is this something the...

I might do that. It seems that heating the intake air is not doing me any favors in the performance department

Coolant flows through TB

I was reading up on the service manual and looking at my 08 4.0L Pathfinder's intake system. Figure with 70k miles a throttle body cleaning is in order.

Apparently coolant flows through the throttle body. Can anyone tell me why this is? Poor man's intercooler?

Strange Gadget on 08 pathfinder

I recently bought a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder used from a dealer. Never got to talk to the prior owner. I discovered today, a little device that plugs into a socket just under the steering column. 6 wires go out from the socket, two go up to the ignition module, and I didn't have time to trace the rest...

Dealer wants 130 for the ECM reprogram. Thinking about having it done and Submitting to nissan goodwill for the hopes of reimbursement. Truck only has 60k miles. Thoughts?

thanks again its like a metallic click. The ABS check would explain it. I have just a few short squawks with the vehicle that need to be ironed out in my first week of ownership. Have thankfully already figured out putting tape on the hood latch. The remaining issues are covered by TSB/recall. I'll ...

Thanks. My 2008 has the clunk. When I read the TSB description, I knew immediately. Now the other noise i'm trying to diagnose, is more of like a click when shifting from first to second gear after just starting the vehicle. It only does it on that first shift, and I never hear the noise again until...

Thanks. I didn't do a very good search before I posted this and I came on another front end squeak thread. I just bought the car today. I sprayed some WD 40 on the hood latch just to see if that did anything. Regardless if that fixed it or not, I will grease the latch tomorrow. Will try the electric...
