Aren't all 2005-2010 Pathfinders susceptible to this?
It would be a surprise if a 2011 or 2012 model year pathfinder had this problem.

It looks like a starter disable system. I would trace it and remove it from the car. It does not seem to be working anyway. There may be a GPS unit in the car as part of the system. Lenders use it to disable cars of delinquent customers.

Thanks! partsweb says it is for Pathfinders made until Jan 2010. Mine is 05/2012 and it does have a different looking bumper. Not as boxy, more of a rounded design than what is shown in the pic.
