Thanks for the feed back. There was enough fluid in the bellows (that subsequently leaked out when it split ) to make a spot on the driveway about 6 inches across.

2001, 3.5LE, 180K I was investigating a 'clunking' noise from the front end passenger side when turning the wheels left or right. Found that the bracket that holds the break line and anti-lock sensor wire was bent somehow away from the unibody and interfering with one of the suspension components . ...

and the answer is! There is a rod that connects the brake booster and master cylinder. The mechanic adjusted that rod (I assume the amount of travel) and presto! The brake pedal feels great. I dont have any more detail than that, other than it took him 15 minutes to figure it out and fix it. The loc...

My brake pedal travels at least half way to the floor before I get good brake engagement. Brakes are good and stop the truck and my boat trailer just fine. This has developed over time - the pedal was always firm and engaged nicely. New brake booster within the last two years, no leaks from wheel cy...
