I agree and I made sure they were the platinums since changing plugs on an 02 is a biotch. My first set went over 100k miles like platinums are supposed to do.

This may not completely relate but I had an almost opposite problem. It was hard to get my 02 out of 4X4 and the light would stay lit. THe lever would shift fine but the rig stayed in 4X4 for quite a while.A change out of the transfer case oil did the trick.

I just joined so I could say thanks and to give back....just in case someone else searches for this problem. I've had my 2002 4x4 Pathy since new. Never had a problem and I have 127k miles on it but I never had changed the ATF before. :shock: I also had a shudder sometimes after it shifted into OD/4...
