That's just what I am afraid of. What I want to know is: is this a "be careful" light or is it a "you just cooked your transmission" light.

Per the manual, this is not one that comes on during startup. The only time I have seen it on is during the combination meter self diagnosis.

Trans temperature light

My 07 LE has the A/T OIL TEMP warning light. I have never seen it come on when towing (it works under test) and the owners manual says little about it. For those who have the light, does it ever come on under load? Does anyone know what temperature activates it?

When I buy a vehicle, I usually use the dealer's service department until they demonstrate that they don't deserve my business. After the first oil change at Pinnacle Nissan in Scottsdale, the Pathfinder dripped so much oil on my new garage floor and driveway that I thought it had a leak. Turns out ...

Yep, that looks like mine at low psi (maybe 10?), except that mine are Firestone blue. If I should ever have to replace mine, I am going to check back with you to see how yours are lasting. I might like to switch. The ALs have a couple features I like. Both sides are tied together so you can fill bo...

If you want the AirLift for a 2D, you have to kludge some from a set made for a Prius or something. You will? Why is that? I'm using the Air Lift 1000 on mine. I don't see any difference between 2WD and 4WD. You're just stuffing a bag inside the spring. Two years ago when I was shopping, Air Lift c...

also, is there an air lift kit for us 2wd people? If you want the AirLift for a 2D, you have to kludge some from a set made for a Prius or something. Firestone Coil-Rite specs the same kit for 2WD and 4WD. About $90 from truckspring.com. I have had a set in my 2WD for almost three years, they work ...

I have a 2007 PF with about 50K miles. I am watching the transmission-coolant issue closely on this forum. So far, I have not seen any 2007s that had the problem. (I also monitor ClubFrontier.)

I installed 112H-rated replacement tires on my 2007 LE. It sounds like you may have the same because they have a 51 PSI maximum. The 51 PSI is the figure you should never exceed (cold). The 35 PSI factory recommendation works well for me except when towing. I found that while towing in the Arizona h...

Does the Scanguage pickup the transmission temp on the Pathy? It wouldn't do it with the Tundra. Not on the Path either (yet). I asked the main guy at SG about that. He said the data is present in the bitstream but it has to be decoded. They are working the vehicles having a high user base first. F...

Skinny, I am using the scangauge to get the instantaneous mpg readings but I never used the burn rate. Is the gal/hr really accurate enough to be useful?

Sweet spot for efficiency?

I use my Pathfinder for towing our travel trailer, almost always at 60 mph. Using CC, the instantaneous mpg readout on the scanguage bounces around between 12 and 17, with the overall average maybe 14 or 15. A couple times I increased the speed to 63 and now the SG bounces between 14 and 20 and seem...

Could you provide more information about the measurements? How does the 2WD spring compare to the 4WD spring? Thanks.

I have a 2007 4X2. Two years ago, I talked with Airlift customer service dept. They told me they didn't support the PF 4X2 because they had never measured one. So I bought the Firestone bags (same kit fits 4X2 and 4X4) and have been happy with them. Now, I have a leak on one side. I haven't looked a...

The turn signal is shorted to the brake lights system somewhere. I would start at the bulbs because that's the easiest to reach. Remove the right side turn signal and brake light bulbs, one at a time and check to see if the problem is fixed. If that's not it, the problem is probably in the wiring or...
