I also have a 2wd PF. I purchased the Airlift1000 for the 4wd Pathfinder. I thought the 2wd and 4wd PFs used the same suspension and coils. I didn't put grease on mine. Here they are after 3.5 years and 70,000 miles. Never had any leaks. Airlift makes a great product! 5-7lbs of pressure in the bag h...

r u saying you don't see temp drop with the fan ? or with the fan off. there is no difference ?
After I installed the fan and when it is off, there is no difference in transmission temperature. The airflow blockage is negligible.

Bellwilliam, nice setup! Tracking my car is something I want to do in the future. Do you have airbags in the back?

I haven't noticed any differences in temperature with the fan in front of the cooler.

How about brake fluid? Ideally it should be replaced every 2 years but should be able to go 3-4 years.

True you can't blow a ground circuit but the ground circuit inside the horn could be broken. I would test the horn to see if it works. Its easily accessible if you take off the grill. Disconnect the horn and connect it to a 12v power source to see if it sounds. I always use my son's 12v Power Wheels...

One thing I am unclear on if someone could help me out. Most fans say they need to be setup on a relay circuit. What is the point of the relay and will I need to do this for my trans cooler fan? You need a relay anytime the amperage of a device is too high to run through a switch. A relay functions...

Just need to make sure I hook it to a circuit that goes off with the ignition incase I forget and leave it on. Where did you tap your power from? There's two 12v outlets near the glove box. On my vehicle, a 2005, the one on top is ignition switched. I tried to use the empty slots in the fuse box bu...

I liked the idea of the switch cause it gives me full control. I like turning it on and knowing its on rather than guessing that it should be on cause the temp is 180.... to go one step further, I can even pre-cool my tranny fluid if I'll towing a route I know. For example if I know there's some hil...

wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that trans oil temps at the outlet are well over 200F under the standard setup? Disallow, I totally agree. The high-side of the trans temperature at the output of the transmission and before the coolers is probably around 230 when I’m reading 180 on the low-side....

We tow a Viking tent trailer, which is about 2,800-3000 lbs. depending on how much stuff you take with you. I wish I had a picture handy. The PF handles the load easily and has been a great tow vehicle. FFB - I find your observations very interesting. I've done the bypass and added a Hayden cooler ...

What about the engine fan? Is it not pulling air through while the vehicle is sitting still? Same as it does for the radiator? It’s logical to think the radiator fan pulls air through the radiator, the condenser AND transmission cooler. And it does but its very minimal across the transmission coole...

Have you done the radiator trans cooler bypass? If you have what type of trans temps are you getting? (and is the temp going up a lot when towing?) I had my transmission temperature gauge installed four years ago. I just did the radiator bypass two weeks ago. Here’s what I noticed: Transmission tem...
