Just got back from the alignment shop and very pleased with the results. Toe was set to spec and the camber is very close to spec. Camber is 1.0 degree on one side and 0.8 on the other. Spec was -0.5 to 0.5 so I'm only half a degree off... Totally acceptable for me. Also, when I'm towing and have we...
Thanks guys! I feel much better knowing the toe can be set up right. That's what I will do too. How much positive camber do you guys have? I'll report back after I get it re-aligned.
Madrock and Pawjr74, I have the OME springs and also trying to get the rear end alignment into spec. The toe is what wears the tires out fast and causes more handling problems. I don't think my local dealer knows what they are doing. They set my camber into spec but it put my toe more out of spec. I...
I installed the AC deluxe suspension package a few months ago but didn't get the truck aligned right away. I wanted to wait until I got new tires. Well, I got new tires a few days ago and brought the truck in for alignment at a Nissan dealership today. All of my alignment specs were out but all were...
Thanks for everyone's feedback. I think I should be OK since I never put chains on the front tires. I'm going with the bigger tires and some low clearance chains.
Icedteasley, where do you have the clearance issues? Is it on the rear tire? I checked around the tire and it looks like there's plenty of clearance. I currently have 265/70/16 BFG A/T but want to run 265/75/16 BFG A/T for the extra 1/2" of lift to add to my 2" lift. However, I need to be ...
I had the same problem with mine. Don't give up yet. He the bolt with a torch, heat gun, blowdryer or whatever you have. I used a heat gun to heat it up, sprayed wd-40 on it and waited 10 minutes for t to cool and it finally broke free.
I was reading through your install again while waiting for my parts to arrive. Have a question about disassembling the strut. Does the shock shaft spin freely when you try to take the nut off? Was this an issue for you?
Thanks!! That's where I'll set mine at. Does this pre-load the spring to accomplish the lift? Did you notice a difference in ride quality for the front? I'm thinking it would not affect ride quality if the spring was a linear spring but would if it was a progressive spring.
Which snap ring groove did you use on the 5100's? I'll be using the same OME medium coils that you have in the rear and looking to level it out. Just ordered my stuff from 4x4parts.com
Not sure about their composition but they're the longest lasting pads I've ever had a vehicle. My 05 Pathfinder has 96,000 miles and there's still plenty of pad left. It looks like it will go 130,000 miles easy. When it comes time to replace I'll definitely use the factory pads again.
Nice install and pics! Did you incorporate a relay into the setup? Glad to see you went with the switch vs thermostat control of the fan. A cool advantage you have with the switch is... if you know you're towing through an area that always heats up the tranny fluid, then you can turn on the fan befo...
Budrbean, the temperature readings you provided are very informative. Please keep us posted as you accumulate more drive time and a wider range of driving conditions. I expect to see much higher temperatures when towing and when there is a prolonged strain on the transmission. For example, when towi...
The threads on my sender were NPT (North American Pipe Thread). Its a tapered thread that get tighter as it screws in. It feels weird to tighten it up. Normal screws and bolts are straight threaded. When they get tight they don't screw in anymore... but the tapered thread will continue to screw in e...
