I just went through a service manual for a 94 path and I agree with Boogey. For the KA they def show that you remove one of the mounting bolts from the alt to give yourself slack. But on the VG it doesn't say nor show what to do and there are no tensioners either.

Well, they DO rub. I suspect under high (as high as a stock pathy can) articulation it could tear off a stock mud flap maybe. I have yet to determine exactly where its rubbing.
