Where are you located? I can recommend 2 great independent mechanics and a great Nissan dealership as well. If you're in NJ...

Get the intake manifold spacer, especially if you tow. Best mod for the pathy.

tires

http://expeditionportal.com/where-the-rubber-meets-the-road/ I'd recommend the Cooper Discoverer AT3, as it seems to do the best on several tests that I have seen. If I were replacing my tires today, that's what I would go with. I know a few guys who run them and love them as well. Personally, I wen...

you can go 33 or so. I ran my 285-70-17 (32.8") with just the melt mod in the front before I put my lift on. no issues

curious as to why you'd run those bfgs. do you primarily drive offroad or on trails? they're just about the worst AT tires on the market, particularly on pavement

tire sizes

I currently have 265/75r16.... Do you think I can do even larger with maybe 265/80r16? Or even 85? 265-75-16 is about 31.6" 265-80-16 won't give you a whole lot of options at all. that's a super strange size. same goes for 265-85-16. you'll probably have to go a little wider to a 285 in order ...

yeah, that's pretty much it. I had my 33s on for a few weeks before I put my lift on and all I had to do was hit the inside of the fronts with a heat gun and push them back a little

exhaust

as far as I know, the aftermarket exhausts aren't that great at all. you could go to an exhaust shop and have them bend you up a custom system from the cats back. at the very least, get rid of that nasty Y-Pipe and toss a 2-1 muffler like a Magnaflow 12580 on it to free up the breathing a little bit.

looks good. I have a thule force xl that I bought off of a friend's dad for $50. they're $500 brand new. he'd used it twice and it was just sitting in his garage, so I asked him about it. he said that he didn't need it and wasn't sure why he bought it in the first place. the thing didn't have a scra...

feel

I have not dyno'd and never really plan to. the 33" tires eat up some of the gains anyway. the intake/exhaust combo is basically a given. get more cold air in and let more exhaust out and you have a more efficient and powerful motor. this is true for any vehicle. the intake manifold spacer defi...

xtp

there are a few cheap mods that will drastically improve the way this vehicle drives.

1-XTP intake manifold spacer

2-getting rid of the dreaded y-pipe and replacing it with a 2-1 muffler.

3-a true CAI

4-bullydog or superchips

alignment

after any suspension work, it's best to give it a few weeks to settle and then get an alignment. at least that's my understanding of the situation. I always did that when I lowered cars as well. I've noticed that the toyo AT2 isn't the best tire in the snow and ice, but it's rock-solid up until 35-4...

traction

maybe those tires just aren't that great in the snow? I don't have any experience with them. and also, if they are 33s, they're probably pretty wide (285s?). wide tires tend to float over the snow rather than cut through it down to the pavement. as for the camber, have you had the truck aligned? wha...

lift

The lift is fine other than the alignment issue caused by the settling. But that is fixed now. I haven't had any issues otherwise and it rides like a dream. No issues with any sort of limited down travel that I would call noteworthy. I haven't done any serious offroading with this setup, but everyth...

jeez

It's funny when people confuse "thinking" with "over-thinking." Do what you will buddy, but 10% is significant no matter what you're talking about. If your boss offered you a 10% raise would you tell him that he was overthinking how well you are doing and refuse? if car dealershi...

tires

I don't think you're going to see the results you think with that odd size change. First and foremost, the narrower tire and taller sidewall will be less safe, which for a family hauler doesn't make sense. Secondly, going with an inch taller tire is going to offset any mpg savings you might see fro...
