Window issues when cold

My windows struggle to go up and down when it's -20C or less outside. You guys have the same issue? Oh yeah, I have a 2008 V8.

It sounds like payload may also be a limiting factor. So, with trailer brakes, air bags, anti-sway/weight distr hitch, would you both agree that I can go at least to the level of a stock Durango?

Pathfinder V8 vs 5.7L Durango - Towing Capacity

So, the Durango claims to be able to two 8750 lbs but the Pathfinder only claims 7500 lbs. Why the difference? The Durango 5.7 has more power but similar torque. The two chasis are very similar (the Durango is 2" taller/wider and 8" longer) and the GVWR's are almost identical. So, while th...

It says "IS", not IN. The installer is checking it out with Nissan. What a PITA.

"Configuration Failed because Consult in Connected"

I get this message on the display after having an aftermarket alarm system installed today. The message pops up right after startup and then goes away. I am assuming that Consult is an ECU software thing and that they had to access the ecu to bypass the key recognition in the ECU. Will I continue to...

What type of pistons are in the Pathfinder?

I was wondering if they are hypereutectic? I believe either the connecting rods or crank are forged. JC

Alarm Questions

1. Does anyone know if our trucks come with a stock glass breakage sensor?

2. Does anyone know if the stock rear hatch sensor can be used in conjunction with an aftermarket alarm?

Thanks, JC

I have had both compustar and viper top end models on my subaru. Compustar is more user-friendly and viper has better security features IMO. Thing is, with our vehicles they have to add an 'immobilizer'. Our trucks require a chip in the key to be within proximity of the vehicle to allow it to start....

I asked the dealer service rep about it and he said there is nothing they can do about it as the gas simply becomes too dense and 'shrinks' thus there is not enough resistance to hold up the door.

Anyone know of any better aftermarket ones available?

I mostly turn mine off because it seems to intervene too much for my tastes. Then again, I enjoy sliding my truck around so you can see my dilemma. My only wish is that there was a way to keep it off rather than having to do it everytime I start the vehicle.

Typically they get extra power partly due to leaning out the A/F mixture, which improves fuel economy. But then with the extra oomph, people tend to get on the go pedal harder than they would otherwise so a lot generally experience lower fuel economy.

We had 6" of snow the other day. I turned off the VDC and had me some fun. Almost works as good in the snow as my Subaru WRX.
