Fond Farewell

It's been 10 years and 107k miles since we purchased our '08 Pathfinder. It's has been a great SUV for our family from the time we had our first baby to now having three. Now that we're making plans for number four it's time to move up to a full size SUV. I surprised my wife with an Infiniti QX80 la...

Thanks for the suggestions. I wasn't familiar with car-parts.com before. I looked at them, but most have scratches or damage that needs repair.

I got a quote for repair for $571. The more I think about it, the more likely I am to go that route. With an aftermarket cover, there is no guarantee how good the fitment will be. Rather than roll the dice with fitment, I think repairing is a safer bet.

I had to replace my circuit board behind the buttons due to some of the buttons no longer working. I bought the entire center stack from a junk yard. I still have my old unit if you just want the button.

Is the material plastic? Could it be pieces of the fan blade?

I think repairing is more expensive than replacing. The bumper cover is cheaper than the cost of hours for repair labor. And since either option will require painting and installation, both of those costs are unavoidable.

I'm going to get some estimates this week so we'll see.

I called a local shop and the price is in the same ballpark. The local shop said that because the vehicle is 10 years and paint changes color as it ages they will have to adjust the factory color to make it match. If that's the case I'm thinking I should go with the local shop vs the online painter.

That's for sure. Mine usually have twigs and leaves stuck in them too.

Yeah, the price is almost too good which is what makes me wonder how good the fitment is. They also have a CAPA certified one for $112. I've never heard of CAPA before but the FAQ on the website says they are a non-profit that tests the quality of auto parts. https://www.paintedautobodyparts.com/nis...

Front Bumper Cover

My wife had a small fender bender in a parking lot that punched a hole on the front bumper cover. Replacing the bumper cover seems like a DIY I should be able to handle. My primary concern with a non-OEM bumper is fitment. Does anyone have experience with non-oem bumper covers they've used? I found ...

I've noticed the same thing. They've never been very dirty when I've replaced them. I still do it since filters are cheap but they never look too bad. Maybe this means the stock intake is restrictive?

Congrats on the new ride! You're going to love the towing improvement. I haven't spent time in a trailblazer but I would have guessed interior space was similar. Where do you notice the difference?

Thanks guys. I was planning to replace them at my next oil change, but it sounds like I can wait until closer to 120k miles.
