If this helps to calm you down, the warranty on the trans/rad issue was extended to 8yr/80,000 miles. So you have a few more miles yet to go before going ballistic.

No one likes to spend time changing a tire but having “Road Hazard” insurance may be a wise choice in your situation. I used to think it was a waste of money until I poked a hole in a $200 sidewall. Covers those nasty nails that somehow find their way into the tires, too.

thanks for the info. looks like that motokote stuff really works, also looking at getting a scanguage. did you put the motokote in your diffs or tranny also?? No, I just use it in the motor. As for the N thing, depending on the grade of the hill, using the engine drag the ECU will go into “fuel cut...

In the middle of October took a 700 mile trip to NY state across PA I80, doing so in 12 continuous hrs travelling 65-70 except the construction areas. Using premium, got an actual 22.3 mpg. Return trip similar. I figure cost of the prem vs. reg was a wash, but at least I can brag (?) Tires at 45psi ...

I agree with smj999smj. A resistor is a current (amps) limiting device. When a load (in this case a blower motor) draws more current than what the resistor is designed for… well, it overheats & burns up (opens). One could lube the motor with a “good” oil like MotorKote, but at the price of the r...

A 1993 Suburban with the 5.7 had 210 hp and 300 ft-lbs torque, the R51's have 270 hp and 291 ft-lbs torque, 60 more hp and 9 fewer lbs foot of torque and the pathfinder weighs 1400lbs less. I have to agree that the 4.0L has a lot of guts. It’s the trans that worries me. My former 98 Tahoe with the ...

On 9/16/2013 I entered a post on my experience of a 21’ long, 7.5’wide: http://www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic.php?t=65&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=150 Perhaps I tend to have feelings for what a vehicle goes thru & therefore tend to minimize the stress I put to it. I know it’s jus...

GOOD JOB CPLTECH! Thanks for the complement. The majority of my troubleshooting skills came as a result of my previous life as an electronics guy & listening to the customer & the events surrounding the issue. Plus I remembered reading here of the proper placement of the pressure cap, which...

Since this happened right after service, is it possible they switched caps?
The pressure cap belongs on the bottle, right?

Skinny2 First time the destination was Zanesville and the famous Y bridge. Even took a ride on the Lorrena Sternwheeler. Camped at Wolffie’s Good Sam while took in the nearby sites. They had a number of temp workers at the park assigned to a nearby nat gas line project. Went 2 days to a place run by...

Last winter bought a 2003 Amerilite 21’ 3300# empty, 7.5’ wide. Took it 160 miles to Zanesville using I71 & I70 a week ago. Got 13.2 mpg going & 12.5 coming [headed into wind], with prem fuel. Tires on the PF were at 40-45psi, camper at max sidewall, 50 psi. Set the cruise @ 55 since it is m...

Should you decide on a Gibson, make sure it is stainless. To save money on my Tahoe [traded in for the PF] I went with a galvanized. It rusted along a weld. Due to age, they refused to warranty but gave a decent price on a stainless. Sorta taught me to leave the original mufflers alone until they fa...

I know this may be a far fetched idea, but could it be dirty injectors causing an imbalance between cylinders? The fuel we get nowadays is pathetic.

Today I decided to visit a sibling, 152 miles round trip, primarily 4 lane country state hwy. Last time I drove 50-55 and got 26.2 per dash. This time decided to do the trip at 47 mph on cruise and averaged 27.70 using same pump at start & finish. The dash said 27.1. Sorta wanted to see what the...
