Yeah you can emit IR max of about 300ft with the stuff you can buy for CCTV use. You would also need multiple IR emitters as they act more like a spotlight than a floodlight. You can probably rig something removable to your roof rack or grill guard. Those FLIR cameras are pretty expensive good luck.

I would probably just go to a local tint shop. Tinting 2 windows should only be around $50 with a decent quality film and they can color match with samples pretty easily. I'm all for DIY on most stuff but tint is a huge PITA

Yep, don't forget about your tires too, if you have an off road style tire or underinflated you can easily drop 1-2 MPG

None of the Ace hardware in my area do chipped keys but another local hardware store I contacted can do it for $69.99 including the key.
