Yeah, that's pretty good on a 99. It's what I get on my 06 Pathy which has a 5 Spd. AT. A lot of it's how you drive. The problem with the pre-2001 Pathys is that the VG33E wasn't much on the power, so some tend to justify pushing down on the accelerator to compensate, which, of course, drops the fue...

A manufacturer can't, legally, require one to use their specific filters and fluids for maintaining and servicing a vehicle for warranty purposes. If they do, they have to provide it free of charge to the owner of the vehicle. This was part of the Magnunson-Moss Warranty Act. For every manufacturer ...

To do it the right way, you should always install pads on a new or resurfaced set of rotors for proper break in. Nissan recommends resurfacing rotors using an on-car brake lathe, which machines the rotors parallel with the hub. New harware is typically a good idea and most premium brake pad set will...

If you get this fixed, be sure to save your repair and towing receipts. The NHTSA has recently started an investigation into this matter and there could be a recall forthcoming if they deem it a safety issue. Most recalls of this type would call for reimbursement for repairs and towing prior to the ...

Bad tires are worn steering componants or wheel bearings can certainly cause that symptom. As you already mentioned, you'll need to get the front end in the air and check. To check the ball joints, you'll need to support the control arm and use a large bar to lift up under the tire to check for play...

Most people that have removed the post muffler and replaced it with a pipe tend to complain about the sound; I wouldn't suggest that. The main muffler does most of the sound dampening, anyway. There are several aftermarket exhausts available and everyone has their preferances. You may want to search...

Yes, there are two, upstream (or front) air/fuel sensors and two, downstream (or rear) O2 sensors. Bank 1 is the cylinder bank that starts with #1 cylinder. For the VQ engine, it'll be the right, or passenger side, bank on a RWD vehicle like a Pathfinder or the rear bank, along the firewall, on a ca...

If you want to play it safe, there is a tool that connects to a 9V battery and plugs into the cigarette lighter or power socket to privide enough power to retain the memory settings. Also, if you disconnect the battery, you may have to relearn the steering wheel position sensor and idle air volume.

Personally, I don't believe in belt dressing. Regardless, there have been known issues with the tensioners and a TSB was released for belt squeek instructing to replace the tensioner and belt. You'll also want to make sure the belt is tracking properly on the new tensioner.
