It has begun!! Titan VK56 swap in my '05!

After thinking about it off and on for several years, I decided last spring that a VK56 swap was in the future for my ‘05 Pfinder 2wd. I have owned her for almost 14 years and with 275K on the original motor and trans, I figured it was a great time for a heart transplant. I started buying some of ...

'05 Path. Bought it in Sept '06 with 16K miles. I'm the second owner. Just turned 220K on it this week. I've done most all the work/ maintenance on it and it has had some of the common problems known for the early models. Funny thing is I put so many miles on it in the early years that I was fixing ...

I neglected to mention the heavy foot I had for a while. The sound was good enough that I didn't even listen to the radio for a week or two. When I finally backed off the heavy foot, I gained maybe a couple mpg on the highway. As far as performance, it was measurable because I had time slips f...

Posts here from way in the past showed that the Gibson exhaust system had poor results. Most people felt like they lost power from it vs. stock. Honestly, how could replacing a restrictive "Y" pipe/ single-in/ single-out muffler with another of practically the same design be any major impr...

I'm right with you. I have a 198K on my '05 and she is still going strong. I've replaced the cam and crank sensors, the IPDM module, the fuel sending unit, the radiator is aftermarket and I've done the bypass... blah, blah. I use synthetic and change the oil every 5,000 miles. I usually change the o...

Should be in the driver's door jamb. It will be a 3 digit code starting with a letter. Or you can call a Dealer with the VIN and they should be able to tell you.

Hard to believe I started this topic over 6 years ago and there is still activity on it. I figured it is time to show a current pic of my '05, especially since I just did a wheel upgrade and new tires. I've now owned my Pfinder for almost 10 years and it has a 198k miles on it. I must say, it still ...

I just did the rear brakes for the first time on my '05. I have 145,000 miles on it. The front brakes lasted til about 120K. Both brake jobs were a sinch. The rear calipers dont even require a special tool to compress the pistons.

With my '05 having a 140K on it, I wouldnt concider it to have been plagued with problems.
I have seen some of the typical R51 problems though... Namely the IPDM module and fuel sending unit. I also had to replace the valve body.
