The timing chain "should" be okay. Supposedly the changed the design of the secondary chains a little to not cut into the tensioner shoes as much and updated the shoes. In my case, whoever did the job before I bought the vehicle must have overtightened the primary chain tensioner bolts bec...

The only place I can think of capping them off would be at the front where the rear lines connect without have them welded, which can be a dangerous propostion as freon is flamable.

Well, most of the mechanics in your region are wrong. You can retrieve the code yourself. The procedure can be found here:

Nissan was only using paper service manuals in 93. Try looking for a used one on Ebay. Or, you could get a single vehicle subscription from ALLDATA.

Nissan wanted $110 for the front pads alone. The Akebono's also came with new guides and ships and mol lube. Fit like original equipment!

I wouldn't be worried about it since it wasn't made by Calsonic. All automatic transmission equipped vehicles...or all that I know of...are equipped with cooler tubes integral of the radiator from the factory and has been so for decades. On the whole, they've been very reliable (even Calsonic's prio...

Anytime a mechanic starts "rigging" as opposed to fixing a problem properly, it's a good time to find a new mechanic! The ECM pulses the ground for the fuel injectors based on input from the cam sensor. You likely need a new distributor assy. Nissan does not offer parts of the distributor ...

NHTSA investigation radiator/transmission failures

A defect investigation has been launched regarding a transmission problem in model year 2005-2010 Nissan Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra. Hundreds of Xterra, Frontier, and Pathfinder owners have reported sudden jerking in their vehicles when travelling at highway speeds. The problem has been diagnos...

No, I wouldn't consider a "popping" noise "normal" on any vehicle. Does the noise occur on hard turns or while driving straight ahead, or both? If it's only on hard turns, then grease the steering stops as I suggested earlier and see if the noise goes away. No, they don't use &qu...

Since Asbestos is no longer used in brake linings, some "dust squeek" is considered "normal" especially when cold. I wouldn't recommend "organic" pads on your vehicle or your next complaint will be about all of the black brake dust that is forming on your front wheels. ...

Yeah, you need to remove the intake manifold to get to it. You might be able to see the harness for it if you look near the AT dipstick. That's why I would use a scantool to see what it's reading. Some problems are hard to diagnose without a good scantool, these days!
