Nope, mine locks too (07 LE), when the doors are locked. I learned about it the same way Suliman did.

Tech, thanks! Great explanation. It sounds like the aftermarket systems that Nissan recommends against must use an external pump, possibly moving the flow backwards through the system like XD9 mentions above. I assume Nissan has no problem with the system you use? One bad thing I see is 20 liters of...

i think the flush is a good idea if your using the right fluid.. Tech, could you elaborate on that? It sounds like you are not using an external flushing machine, rather you are pumping new fluid in and the old out using the transmission's internal pump. Is that correct? If so, that would conform t...

That gauge isn't related to battery strength, that is related to how the output of the charging system. If that gauge goes down, you have a greater problem than the battery - it most likely means that you just lost your alternator. That gauge should give a fair indication of battery condition. Of c...

There is a Nissan service bulletin that deals with aftermarket flushing systems (like bg). Nissan recommends that you do not use them on any Nissan vehicle. (I have the pdf but I can't figure out how to post it.)

Do you have any information on the mileage improvement? Thanks.

My 4.0 gas engine turns similar rpm at that speed if the auto transmission locks up in O/D. Of course, it has no power then. If it comes to a slight hill it must downshift. (That's another thing we don't get: manual gearbox!) If I made an 80-mile trip at steady 60 mph on flat land, I estimate it wou...

Funny, your Path looks just like mine (except they put the wheel on the other side), but I don't get near that mileage. Oh, I remember: diesel. I wish they would bring the diesel engine to the states. I would trade mine in a minute. By the way, where are your Nissans assembled? Nice Vauxhall. We don...

I like to use Turtle Wax Tar & Bug Remover because it is wax-based. After it dissolves the bug, you can just buff the area and you don't have to re-wax it. Back in the olden days, before leaving on a highway trip, folks would put a heavy coat of wax on the front surfaces. That made it easier to ...

That's around 10 percent. Certainly not too shabby! Is that with the exhaust only or exhaust and intake. Are there any other mods contributing to that increase?

Eric, can you give us an idea of how much the gas mileage improved? Either for the exhaust only or with the exhaust and intake.

Thanks

Hey Guys,
I use 87 too and have been happy. But I wonder about using higher octane when the engine is under a load, like towing or driving in mountains in the summer.

Has anyone compared grades under these conditions?

Don't leave it in the lower gears unnecessarily when towing. I tow a 3000 lb travel trailer. The ScanGauge shows the best gear to use. For example, on a reasonably level highway, OD is fine. If I lock out OD when I could be using it, it costs me 2 MPG. OTOH, when I come to a hill, the SG tells me wh...

More interesting photos! Unfortunately, I have only a rudimentary grasp of Spanish so most of the story was lost. My own fault for not paying attention in school.

Thanks again
