Honestly it's not that bad after you've done it a few times...1st DIY oil change on any new or unfamiliar vehicle is always going to result in some spilled oil. Why DIY? The 20 minutes is quicker than a dealer or lube shop and, in my opinion, less hassle. And you know what you're putting into it...a...

Until the engine heats up you'll see the oil pressure get very high if you rev to higher RPM. When at normal operating temp, oil pressure seems to be limited and more stable. I'm not sure what's controlling the pressure and why for different operating temps, but that's been my experience since day 1...

That's the way it should have been built to begin with. Way to go. I never understood why they put tires underneath when it's bound to get messed up from rocks, trees, and salt. I guess everyone has different priorities. Me, I'm an on-road guy as I suspect that most other Pathy owners are, and I am...

Agree, why??? This really seems like a downgrade. Only thing I can think of is, are you trying to carry an additional spare tire? I'm just not seeing a practical purpose here and it certainly can't be for aesthetic reasons.

Airlift 1000 airbags in the back end really made a big difference on body roll. Also, when I upgraded to Goodyear Fortera TripleTreds I noticed another substantial improvement in body roll and handling.

I went to Royal Purple MaxGear at 30k. Whereas the factory fill looked nasty at 30k, the Royal Purple looked great when I changed it again at 60k. I'll probably let it go to over 100 before I change it again.

It's on the bottom of the pan...If I remember correctly it's a 19 mm socket. You'll need a copper crush washer, same as the engine oil drain plug. Torque spec on the plug is 25 ft-lb for when you retighten.

That's a great idea... I currently use the little bin under the back seat to store a few emergency items that I wouldn't want others to get their hands on, but currently rely on the hidden location and nobody thinking to pull the seat up. As the baby on its way gets older I might need to look into a...

I'm still a little ways away from brake replacement (currently at 68k), but I think I'll just replace with OEM when its ready. I've been pretty happy with the life and stopping power, with just a slight bit of warpage so far. With normal speeds less than 80 MPH I always run out of tire before I run ...

What is typical battery life, and would it make sense to buy new TPMS units and replace during a tire change?

I'm finding prices of about $66 a sensor though, so that's a lot of $ on the chance of it going. Hopefully they're powered to last a while.

The service manual advises an elaborate procedure for pulling vacuum with a special tool to make sure you get the right amount in and avoid air. When I asked the parts guy about this tool he laughed at me, made some comment about engineers and their white shirts, and said to just drain it and fill t...

I looked through the service manual yesterday, and there is an ATF temp sensor and a DTC code (P1710) associated with it. I haven't looked through the logic in detail, but overtemp situations should fire the check engine light and throw a code. Looking at the (engine coolant) thermostat temperature ...

It's really pretty easy, and installation is largely dependent on where you want to locate the valve stems. My airlifts only came with two protectors, placed at the top of the airbag near the stem. One tip, jack up the rear of the vehicle to extend the springs and make it easier to fit the compresse...

I have to say, I ignored this thread for a long time because this sounded like a dumb thing to do. Engineers generally have a good reason for designing something the way they do and, unless you fully know the design basis, then you shouldn't be monkeying with it. As home mechanics and end users, we ...

I just got done with the same install (3GD dimpled / slotted rotors, Green Stuff 7000 front / 6000 rear). Had some help from a co-worker and that helped. Was able to use basic socket set (with a short piece of pipe as a breaker bar) and a small screw driver (to hold the small brake pad clips in the...
