Here is an excerpt I found on retread.org: BUT HOW ABOUT SAFETY? The safety of today’s retreads has been proven beyond a doubt by millions of vehicles over billions of miles worldwide. Airlines, both commercial and military, school and municipal buses, small package delivery services such as DHL, FE...

Tread Weight Tires

Has anyone looked into Tread Weight tires? I know that in the past there were horror stories about retread tires falling apart at highway speeds, but the Jeep forum I used to be a part of had members that would swear by them. There were guys that ran them on their XJ's for 20,000 miles through sand,...

@ madrock Definitely get your alignment checked. Lifting the rear 2 1/2 inches on my Pathfinder put the rear way out of spec. The front went in to spec no problem but the rear is just a hair out of spec on the camber. After a 1300 mile trip to CA the tires are still wearing ok though. Did you end u...

I had to edit my previous post. You would want to use a dry filter, not an oiled filter. AMSOil makes a good one too.

would I have two buy new shocks or anything or are these strictly just spacers? would it be easier and just as efficient as this https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/deluxe-suspension-package-p-5843.html ? The PRG kit is strictly the front and rear spacers with extended bump stops. It is recommended tha...

The stock air box has a long snorkel that sends air to one area of the drop-in filter. This is evident with older drop-in filters because it always seems like one area is dirty while the rest of it is not. The air box mod is where you shorten the snorkel inside the factory air box so that incoming a...

I travel 17 miles one way to the park-and-ride for work. Five of those miles are on the highway while the rest of the miles are stop and go. I averaged 17.5 MPG after my first real tank full. When I say "first real tank" that's after I did the air box mod and changed to the oil to Mobil 1 ...

Thanks for the tip! Nice rig you have there. I was holding out hope I could find an OR edition one in white but no such luck.

I haven't gotten an alignment yet. I checked the toe, and it didn't seem to be off. I have a $15 off coupon with Firestone so I still may take it over there. There is a Firestone across from my office, but I've started taking an express bus to work saving wear and tear on my rigs. If I decide to dri...

I was inspecting the area more closely last night and noticed tree sap type residue in that area. It leads me to believe that they were cutting a good sized branch, dropped it on my rig, and walked off like they didn't know anything about it. I took it to a higher end body shop last night, and they ...

With it being 110 degrees outside, I really didn't have time to setup the shots I wanted with the Pathy. I am going camping in southern Utah in a couple weeks. I should get better shots then. My New Pathfinder vs. Landscaper

I try to be somewhat friendly to the environment by telecommuting to work (I know it's an oxymoron since I drive an SUV and a truck). I go to a park-and-ride and take an express bus to my office in downtown Phoenix. I get off of the bus around 4:30PM yesterday and notice this big dent near my passen...

Bilstein makes two really good struts. The 5100 are the height adjustable struts, and the HD are the OEM height struts. Both are a major improvement over the OEM struts.
