I know that whenever I have done brakes (although I have yet to do them on the Pathfinder) one pad always seems to be closer to the rotor than the other one. Try spinning the hub with the wheel off and watch the clearance to see if it changes, that may indicate whether you need to turn the rotors. A...

Great write up!!! Excellend pictures, too!

How did you cut the hole for the tweeter? It looks like there was an outline of a hole already, did the tweeters fit that whole, or did you measure it separately?

It's not usually a problem if you scootch your seat up a little and not take a "Gansta Stance". We're not driving a 10 year old Honda with a coffee can exhaust, after all. Concerning "sight lines", what irritates me more, is the 3rd brake light blocking my view behind me. I find ...

I've got a 2005 V6 and get 16-17 on my daily commute, which is residential 30 mph windy roads with occasional traffic lights. If I drive aggressively or tow I'll get down to 14, and I can get 20-21 while on the highway and the tank will average out to 18-19. Mine seems to be getting better since I b...

430?!?!?!

Is it down hill both ways? What size tires do you have on there?

Here's a link. Just punch the numvbers into the search box to verify, or use the catalog to locate the parts you want.

Floor Jack and Jack Stands

I have yet to rotate tires on my "new to me" 2005 Pathfinder. I had a floor jack and jack stands for my Sentra, but as they don't reach the underside of the truck when they are fully extended, it's time for an upgrade. I am hoping to not spend a great deal, as I mainly use them to rotate t...

They go inside your current springs for added stiffness and support.

I have an 05 and haven't noticed any pinging. Of course with the 05, it's hard to hear anything over all the other squeaks, bumps, and rattles. That's what we get for going with the first year of a redesign.

I can verify that it certainly doesn't affect gas mileage to go with a higher octane.

I know that my Pathfinder has a button on the shifter, where your thumb is, to specifically turn off overdrive.

The only peice that I don't see is any kind of water diverter. In many of the aftermarket models, there is a baffle in the engine compartment that will allow air to be drawn in if the engine needs to pull too hard on the main air filter, due to it getting too wet. Hope it's not under warranty, cause...

2005 Pathfinder XE audio upgrade. Comments welcome.

I am dealing with the stock XE model, so no bose. I am changing the head unit to after market. I am looking at a couple different JVC models with HD Radio built-in. Approx 20 watts RMS / channel. For speakers, I am a looking at component 5 1/4" in the front (separate tweeters) and replacement 6...

I just bought my 2005 Pathfinder, used. To get a "Wrap" policy to 100,000 miles or 84 months from service date, was $1000. I have also heard that some of the aftermarket warranties (i.e. WarrantyDirect.com) are pretty affordable. I know that I will either trade-in or get an aftermarket war...

2005 Pathfinder: amp/speaker wiring question

I am in the process of adding an amplifier and aftermarket speakers to my 2005 Pathfinder. I have the non-bose, stock system. At this point, I could either run brand new speaker wires from the amp to all 4 doors (pain in the butt), or I could run speaker wires from the amp to behind the stereo, and ...

It turns out the Crutchfield's advisor was screwed up, or they didn't have any in stock that would fit. There are several 6x9's that will, but not all of them. As far as amps, there appears to be plenty of headroom under the frint seats. You could build some stilts for any amp to avoid the vents.
