If it is your fan clutch - why it doesn't happen all the time you start it up. If it happens after sitting few days, it could be oil related. I had a similar issue on my othe cars when using cheap oil filters. They Drain the oil back in the sump much quicker than eom or quality aftermarket units. Th...

I would suggest replacing restrictive OEM y-pipe with custom unit, that is the best thing you can do while keeping things quiet. There is nothing wrong with stock piping size or with stock muffler for that matter, but that cramped y-pipe is the only bottleneck in the system. I put in the V8 Pathy mu...

Regarding pathfinders made in Spain being immune to radiator issues - double-check on that. I see some complains about this problem on Russian Pathfinder forum and their trucks come from Spain. Just make sure. Also, the common solution there is to replace the radiator with aftermarket unit. No one i...

That is exactly why I just bought a new bottom half of the airbox and just did K&N drop-in filter. One thing to do it to make sure it fits well and closed properly after dealer chacks the condition of the filter. They never bother to close it properly and it damage the box inthe process.

For those with XD Addict rims

Did you have to use any hubsentric rings with these wheels or is the rim sitting tight on the hub? Any balancing issues with these?

Welcome! Don't tint the headlights - they are not extremely bright to begin with. Even the lightest tint (say the smoked film frm Laminex) will decrease your light output by another 10%.

How is the road noise with Duratracks, by the way? I'm curious if the hum a lot compared to stockers?

Emergency Vehicle Siren mod

Well, this is not the most practical mod to the truck, but it makes life more fun from time to time. A little while back I picked up Federal Dynomax MS100 100 watt police siren speaker on Ebay for $70 and later came across Sho-Me sound controller with amplifier for another $65. This was a steal, so ...

Now, that is a proper way to sort out the wheels - real powdercoating and some nice beefy tires (vs spray can job). I think matte black finish looks awesome on grey truck. How did you color-match those plastic center caps? Also, how much did the powdercoat job run you, if you don't mind me asking?

I think you're ok. Small curve is normal here and does not effect the seal on the filter - critical area is filter seal against the upper lid. These boxes are a pain to close properly - you got to slide the tabs in the loops on the left side, then push the lid closed as you re-install the latches. I...

Done! I finally got the parts (ordered 5.6 OEM muffler, crosspipe and a pair of gaskets) and ended up using a muffler only with the other parts going back for refund. My initial theory was that this should be a direct bolt-on project, but I can't still say for sure that it would be the case. The sho...
