Re: 2019 Rockcreek edition

Reports are that the MY 2017+ R52 CVT transmissions ARE much better. But at this point, it's rumored that for 2022, Nissan is totally redesigning the Pathy (R53?) with a conventional 9-speed transmission. Maybe bide you time a bit longer?

No pdf attachments?

I recently had an opportunity to help a forum member with a question that could be answered following a 4-page procedure someone had previously written up in pdf form. When I went to attach it, I get "Invalid file extension". Really? We can't attach pdfs? I finally ended up pointing the me...

Re: Broken power rear lift gate hydraulic strut

Unfortunately, this is a common problem with these vehicles. Someone on another forum wrote up a procedure on how to repair it.

Re: 2019 rear seatbelt won't unlatch

You may need to force it. It sounds like the tongue is not the right configuration. With the risk of breaking the latch, you might try putting vise-grips on the Press button to keep it down and then giving it a good yank. If you break it, seat belts are easily replaceable, though the part may not be...

Re: CVT & Towing

You're not likely to get a response from that person from a 7-year-old thread, but I can tell you that my friend had an R-pod and pulled it with a Lincoln MKX rated at 3500 lbs. You'll have no trouble pulling one with a Pathfinder.

Could also be ball joints. Also make sure the lugs on that wheel are tight.

I'm guessing a warped rotor.

I guess my point was based on what I see, at least for me the 2013-2015 R52s don’t make much of a convincing argument over a similar crossover. Meaning I don’t really see them having a USP over competitor vehicles. The USP is the price. No where else can you get that set of features for the pri...

Understand that the R52 platform is totally different from the Pathfinders that preceded it. If you love your R51, you'll be disappointed owning a R52 in it's current iteration. It's a crossover, not a SUV. I agree that the Terra is probably the best of both worlds and if Nissan has any smarts left,...

Your problem was largely cosmetic. Many 2013 - 2015 owners experienced issues with their CVT transmissions that Nissan didn't acknowledge, forcing lawsuits and some buy-backs. The Rogue seems to be better supported and promoted for some reason, so hopefully you'll get better service on it.

Unfortunately, that is the name of the game with Nissan. You have to be persistent because they figure you'll eventually go away. Hell of a business model, but that's been the experience with lots of R52 owners.

This doesn't appear to apply to the Pathfinder. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10162976-9999.pdf Nissan sent me an official letter, so I am confused to say the least. so assuming its correct, and mandatory for CA would you get the ECM updated if you lived elsewhere ? Thanks Ian. I would....

Good idea. There is probably some kind of warranty in the contract that says they will fix things within a certain amount of time. Don't delay.
