Re: Finally got myself a compressor air pump

I would have recommended the Milwaukee air pump that is on sale quite often. Set the psi you want and once it hits the goal, it stops. A full charge will pump my 33" tires plus top off another vehicle before battery is drained. Obviously it'll benefit anyone the most that already has a a Milwau...

Re: Z1 upgraded ignition coils

So the Audi R8 coil packs went in easy and great. It does take a little longer to start than normal(takes a second or two of cranking before it starts as oppose to starting up right away with the factory coil packs). Car drives and idle smooth. I'll drive it for a while like this and see how I like...

Re: Rear Swaybar/Subframe

Just like you guessed, time for a rear subframe replacement since the sway bar does bolt into the rear subframe. From what I've seen and done on my other IRS vehicles, it's pretty straight forward and not difficult. Seeing as how you're dealing with rust though, maybe let a shop deal with it?

Re: New Toyota Trucks, looks like...old Nissan R51

Yeah, I think parts for the VQ40 won't be an issue for a long time just like the VK56. It's just the stuff outside of the engine itself that will be the issue. Hoses, reservoirs, seals, windows/windshields, body mount bushings, etc.

Re: Car Camping

The few guys that sleep in their Pathy, I've seen them literally take out the 2nd and 3rd row seats completely and they built their "bed" platform with sheets of plywood. I personally haven't done it since all my trips are a 1 day outing currently. I've thought about picking up an 18-21 ft...

Re: New Toyota Trucks, looks like...old Nissan R51

At some point, you can always buy a cheap American Pathy. Drive it up there and use it for parts. I've ran into trouble with particular coolant and vacuum hoses being discontinued. The coolant reservoir is either discontinued or on a very long backorder with no ETA. Valve cover was the same way as t...

Re: Drop Bracket Lift Upgrades & Maintenance

That looks like that is CJD's 2wd 4" spindle lift spindle? I've had their full heim tie rods sitting in my Pathy's trunk for almost a year now, was hoping they'd be a perfect fit when I get to it this fall. Looks like you've got some nice upgrades though. Few questions: Did CJD give you any hea...

Re: New Toyota Trucks, looks like...old Nissan R51

At this point, I'm okay with my R51. I'll save $50k+ and just SAS my R51. Parts are starting to get discontinued from Nissan though so I'm a bit worried, but otherwise in okay spirits.

Re: I got the Itch (where should i scratch)

I would definitely go with the upgraded thermostat housing with factory Nissan oem thermostat. You don't need a low temp one since it's no race car nor you probably don't do any spirited driving with it, it'll just end up causing the engine to run rich burning more fuel. I'd go with the billet heate...

Re: I got the Itch (where should i scratch)

This is one of the hoses that goes to the heater core from the back of the engine that has a bulky device inline on the hose - 92400-ZS21A. Unfortunately the longer one that comes out from the rear driver side is no longer available. I bought a Samco hose to see if that'd work, but it was too big un...

The only thing that comes to mind is you have an exhaust manifold leak.
