Trip to the "end of the world" - Nordkapp, Norway

I took my my family to the trip up north. Weather at Nordkapp was super. Sun was high all day and night. After leaving Nordkapp the weather got worse and worse every day. By the time we left from Norway the temperature dropped down to +7C (forecast was +4C) and it was raining daily. We were on wheel...

I have tried this.

In winter, when I was driving back from forest with christmas tree, I had to let it open.
I drove only about 10km and all from middle row seats backwards were full of snow.

Much better is to open the sunroof or front windows.

FIFTEEN litres/100KM? How do you do it? I must hear your secrets, I'm currently sitting at 17.8L/100Km, and it varies between 17.7 and 18.1. There is no secret.. Take it easy with your right foot. I try to keep engine RPM less than 3000. I use "cruise control" as much as possible. ...

I keep it on 4wd Auto all the time in winter and 2 wd in summer. I cant say there is much difference on mpg while on 2wd or 4wd(auto). I've noticed a little difference while on 4wd(auto) or 4wd (Hi) [15.0L/100km vs 15.5L/100km].

Try to give a push by hand while opening/closing the mirrors.
This way I managed to get them work again. Seems that it gets some dirt in and the gears will stuck if not used often.

I have been using studded Nokians for many winters and will continue with Nokians. My experience: in deep snow 30+cm there is no difference if you have studded tires or not, but on icy roads studded tires have much better grip. Tried Cooper Discoverer (labeled for all season) but on snow those were ...

Does it squeel differently when turning the wheels? If not, my guess would be that the belt is making noise.

Can anyone tell me if the button on the key fails how i get into my car?
Take a closer look on driver side handle and you'll notice a key icon. Remove the cover and you'll find a lock underneath.

From my point of view the tyres with 2mm and less are slics.. We have 3mm limit for winter and 1mm limit for summer tyres. I always get new tryes for winter if there is left 5mm or less. Are you planning to take same road with "Suicide Bend," "Devils Elbow" and "Reverse Corn...

how much snow you expect to meet? if it is less than 20-30cm then it almoust doesnt matter which tyres you have as long as you don't have slics. with ice it is a little bit different story. best option would be studded tyres but in your case .. once in 30years.. its pointless. if temperature dorps b...

Does 2008+ PF's have different nav than 2006?

For updating the map (on 2006 pathy), just replace the DVD under the passanger seat.

I did front shaft u-joints few months ago. It is an easy work, there is nothing to worry about. If you have a one bad u-joint then replace both ends. I used hammer, flat ended screwdriver for u-joints and 13-14mm wrenches for removing the shaft. Do not forget to make marks becouse you have to put it ...
