Re: Replace stock sus with Moog/Bilstein?

Shipfixer, what airbags are you running, and do you like them/would you buy them again? I have the AirLift 1000 bags. On my second set (purchased new ones with the Moog springs in 2018) and they work great, never any issues. One note here, with the Moogs you definitely want to install the airbags w...

Re: '05 R51 Mode 6 Data - Details

I don't think so. But Nissan Data Scan on a PC does show more of the data through reverse engineering of CONSULT than you will get with OBD II by itself, including some codes that don't pop up on OBD II readers or even the Android version of NDS. It can also command idle air relearn, and set idle sp...

Re: Washer Pump Motor - Nissan Part #28920-7S000

My reservoir leaked, so that's what I replaced along with the pump.

Re: Replace stock sus with Moog/Bilstein?

I have the Moog V-6 springs. Before I installed them, I had to run my Airlift bags at 5-8 psi to keep the rear "about right" when empty, and would bump them to anywhere from 12-20 psi for different loads. This includes big mountain bike trips with a full heavy rack with three bikes, three ...

PRG motor mounts - round two

Like most early adopters of the PRG mounts, I didn't reinstall the stock heat shields. About ten years later, this is what the passenger one looks like: https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/e185/txnavy/IMG_1321.jpeg?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds It was squatting down enough on the passen...

Re: Replace stock sus with Moog/Bilstein?

I'd go with the Bills, and if the OEM springs are worn, maybe consider OEM spring replacement as well. Measure your height at arches. The OEM rear springs by themselves are too soft, even when new. You can spot a stock Pathfinder on the highway by the way it wallows and sways in the back. Zero reas...

Re: Replace stock sus with Moog/Bilstein?

The Moog springs and 4600s are great. The springs are what should have come on these trucks from the beginning.

Re: SURFING!!

You can get the board in, but probably not that way. If you remove the passenger headrest, tilt the seat back, and then put something about the same height (I use a large plastic tote with surf stuff in it), it will fit down the passenger side that way. Here is my 7'10" Harley Ingleby Mid 6 tha...

Re: Z1 upgraded ignition coils

My Z1 coils are great. I was replacing four old, two new standard coils and could tell a slight difference. Smoother, little more pick up, etc. Probably do put out more power as advertised.

After my heater manifold detonated, I would rather have done it pre-emptively.

Re: Middle Seat Removal

I'm considering removing the center seat from the center row. It's a 2012. Will nuts or bolts fall through the floor after I remove them? I'm concerned that they may either fall on top of something around the driveshaft and get lost/wedged, or worse, I'll loosen them, find out I can't access the ot...

Re: R51 suspension upgrade after 160k kilometers

If they're available where you are, the Moog springs are enough of a spring rate increase to correct the sag in the rear, mostly mitigate the need for Airlift bags, and provide negligible (0.5" - 0.75") lift at both ends. They're also heavier gauge wire and so theoretically would last long...

Re: Best place for an alignment

Somewhere on the Hunter website, there is a link to find a shop near you with a Hunter alignment machine. That plus Yelp tells me most of what I need to know in a new town. There is actually a great independent shop in the middle of south east DC, near the Navy Yard, carved out of some old town home...
