My front ABS will make a noise that sounds like what you're describing. I fixed it by moving to San Diego and not having to brake hard regularly in 4WD on the snow

What NVSteve said is correct, there's no reason within the bounds of engineering why this would be a spring thing. They'll settle down, not up. It's something else. Yeah, most of us learned this way to not clean the throttle body. It's not the MAF really...it's that the butterfly servo learns to open over time with build up, but won't automatically learn the other way when you clean it. There's a procedure in the service manual to make the ECU relearn air idle....
