Yeah, um, have to get the truck started to test under load, and I'm not walking it to Walmart :-P But with 12.6V I should have gotten something out of it. This wasn't a dying battery, it was *poof* nothing. Anyway, it wasn't the battery. It was the terminal again. Sanded to bright metal, cinched dow...

2005 with 82K miles. Battery is less than a year old (replaced after deployment) and a slightly higher rated CCA model. No signs of a "dying" battery either last night or just before...but who knows. No clicking from the starter, no attempt to turn over, just went dark. Found my multimeter...

Truck died this morning...

Luckily I live next to a hotel and caught a cab to work. Tried to start it this morning and it immediately and completely died electrically. There's a tiny bit of power going to the seat belt light but that's it. No interior lights or anything. I managed to reset whatever it was by disconnecting and...

Eh...that could be the other half of your problem. The gear grinding noise is indeed "normal." But some of the tires these trucks come with...yikes. Mine had the OEM BF Goodrich's when I got it with plenty of tread left on them. They wouldn't stop on anything either and ABS was often worki...

My front ABS will make a noise that sounds like what you're describing. I fixed it by moving to San Diego and not having to brake hard regularly in 4WD on the snow 8)

Seems to be the going rate, although I seem to remember paying $60.

What NVSteve said is correct, there's no reason within the bounds of engineering why this would be a spring thing. They'll settle down, not up. It's something else. From working on my suspension compared to other things, and the general feel of it I have the suspicion there's just shitloads of bindi...

Yeah, most of us learned this way to not clean the throttle body. It's not the MAF really...it's that the butterfly servo learns to open over time with build up, but won't automatically learn the other way when you clean it. There's a procedure in the service manual to make the ECU relearn air idle....

Re: Fuel Pump?

Ugh... this car is draining me! I'm getting a buzzing sound from underneath in the rear when the engine is running. I can only imagine that this is the fuel pump warning me of impending death. Anyone ever changed one? Anything I need to know? Are you sure it's not an exhaust shield band that corrod...

I'm a mechanical engineer in a computer science world, and damping resonance is my outlet :-D Yeah, I figured Florida might require the butyl rubber solution. - It's a lot easier to get into the fenders if the front is lifted, yes. You can do this with a jackstand on each wheel though, no need for a...
