Re: Where under the hood is the heater inlet pipe?

I think the Xterra may not have had the rear AC system, like the Frontier, as it's only a 5 passenger setup.

Re: Never mind! Have more thinking on this one.

After all these years, I never knew the A/C would run during the winter, and that's the way it's supposed to work. I have an odd ball thing where I am seeing the AC compressor kick on, yet I've disabled the A/C button in the truck! But the vibration I've had made me look and I saw the clutch pull in...

Re: Clockspring Repair - $20

Mine has worked flawlessly at this point, so much so, that without you commenting, I've forgotten all about the repair! TBH, there are people that order whole new clocksprings from Alibaba and have installed them for $50, and it's probably easier. Some are on ebay now. I required the heated wheel cl...

Re: Random wheel misalignent - Steering Angle Sensor

Don't shoot me. Just adding to the improbabilities here. At the base of the steering column, where the column attaches to a knuckle, there is also a spline, and it's held with a tension bolt? If it were to have been loosened for any reason in the past, by mistake, etc. Looks like a similar spline wh...

I think you are at the point where the mechanic is going to have a deep dive into it for sure.

Hope you let us know what they may find!

Re: Random wheel misalignent - Steering Angle Sensor

ok. I was thinking the problem was there before the clockspring replacement, even if on the marks. I didn't read the thread to note that you replaced the CS.

damn.

Re: Random wheel misalignent - Steering Angle Sensor

the only other thing to consider is the steering wheel itself. It seems silly, but did anyone ever take the wheel off for inspection? It's splined as well, but if that nut came loose, then the steering wheel itself could have jumped or became stripped. 1% likely hood, but, those steering wheel splin...

Re: 06 Pathfinder Transmission swap, still shuddering

Hmmm. shuddering usually is the torque converter. Installing an old torque converter, is tricky. A scan tool, looking at the solenoids and control from the TCC, may show how they are shifting, and when the shuddering occurs. Not sure what data and bi-directional control we have on the 07, might be j...

Re: Auto Transmission Question

to confirm. shuddering was getting bad, needed to swap torque converter. Decided to be the first to try this. 2019 Frontier Transmission >> installed in 2005 R51. No issues. Purchased a 2019 Frontier transmission (28k km) from a auto recycler. Swapped over 2005 TCM and valve body into belly of the 2...

Re: 06 Pathfinder Transmission swap, still shuddering

1st things first. your surplus transmission, but you did not state which torque converter was used. old one, the surplus one that came with the transmission you had installed, or a new remanufactured one. the surplus transmission, came from which vehicle? Another 06? that kicking occurs between 30-4...

having done at the same time?
if looking at control arm replacement, have your wheel hubs inspected.

Re: Oil Change 5 miles ago : )

I like to rotate detergent packages anyway to expose deposits to a variety of detergents. :)
I have done this for many years, I've landed on the M1 now.

I was really disappointed in purchasing Kirkland a couple of years ago (seemed to burn off quite a bit) and have stuck to the M1 since.

Re: What's Back There anyway...

It' looks like quite a few little bolts to get at the unit, from the inside, cleanly.
Not quite certain if you have to take the whole unit out to replace it - I should have grabbed a shot from the inside. It looks like a -4 10mm bolts to get it out from there if I recall.
