Hey Carl, When you switch from Auto to 4HI, is it instantaneous, or does it take a few seconds? It instantaneous on mine, switching back and forth between Auto and 4HI, as if nothing really happens. This doesn't sound right since there should be some sort of mechanism to lock the diff in 4Hi, so it ...

I'll do a trip soon with them disconnected. I don't think my fronts are the extended ones? I'm planning a snorkel and RDL within the next few weeks. Has yours given you any hassles? If you have the PRG or Total Chaos UCA, then most likely you have the extended fronts. I had a slight clunking noise ...

Re: Eureka

Ok i finally located my gears. I ended up having to buy a new front gear set for $360. I located a used set for the rear $180. Now I just need to find a good shop to do this switch. Im not sure if I need to buy the bearing install kit or not? I should have my gears in a couple days and my truck in ...

That's what I did. I bought brand new R&P. Same logic, I'm keeping this truck for a long time and I didn't want any used parts to go with my new ARB locker, especially my truck we less than a year old when I swaped the gears.

Hmmm. Anyway, give it a try. Just sayin' the 5.6 been around since 2004 and Nissan hasn't baked in a simple performance gain by doing the advance as of yet. Why would they hold back? Wait, the new Infiniti QX and the new Nissan Patrol have the newer 5.6 engines that put out 400hp. Hmm, maybe it's in...

rragpaoa I have been searching high and low for a used ring & pinion set. I cant find anything used. Do you know the names of the salvage yards that had the armadas? I can find a new set for around 1K. Clay You may have to buy the whole pumpkin unforunately. Still cheaper than a new set of R&am...

I'm interested as well. Let us know what you find. However the ECU is an integral part of the overall system, and it may have to be programmed as well. But as an engineer, I would have left the programming of the HDC in the ECU across all models. There's no reason to leave it out.

I thought about doing the 2degree advance as well, but decided against it mainly because the V8 has more than enough power stock and we may have to only run premium, which today's gas prices is a no-go. You can run 87, but from what I have been reading, the ECU may complain in hard driving. Also, I ...

rragpaoa, long time my man! I'll be hitting DV again right after Easter this year, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have yet. We'll be making a day trip to Bodie, and then I'll probably be in DV for another 2 days. Let me know if you, Carl, or anyone else wants to possibly hook up again for a da...

I stand corrected, they are cutting/trimming the fenders up front, but can't find any mention about cutting the rear with spacers. I'm running 33.5 tires, 275/70 18. They are .5 larger than the 285/65 tires. With my upgraded suspension, I had to do the melt mod, but no trimming. With my Radflo exten...
