Re: Ride height stock suspension

What year and how many miles? In my relatively minimal experience with these R51s I'd say no. Sleepy rear springs are pretty common it seems. A fresh pair of MOOG springs, spring rubbers, and KYB shocks and mine sits level. Note, after installing those springs it did look a little tall for a week or...

Re: Engine Fan running

My high temp/ electric fan often running problem ended up being a cheap POS aftermarket thermostat.

Re: Thermostat Gasket

Cooling system upgrades completed and tested all good. Got the truck in Sep w/90K and immediately changed out the radiator with a Koyorad from RA at a smoking price. Everything else looked good enough from the outside to put off anything else cooling related until spring. So beginning of May a coupl...

Thermostat Gasket

Doing some cooling system maintenance this weekend, woo fun! Thermostat gasket comes with sealant pre applied on the thermostat side but not the engine side. I can't imagine they don't want something on the block side. I plan on using the same sealant I'm going to use on the cam chain tensioner cove...

Hood Struts

And why didn't these come from the factory? 20220518_194332.jpg I got the set from Z1 Off-Road and couldn't be more impressed. Easy, fast, no clearance issues at all. 20 minute install. The hood really opens further. I did have to email them for the free shipping though. https://www.z1offroad.com/z1...

Harbor Freight rock lights installed in hatch.
Wired into the 12V lighter plug and installed switch next to it.

FYI the 20A fuse for the outlets is located under the hood on the passenger side. Don't ask

Variable Timing Solenoid Oring

Annotation 2022-03-22 083152.jpg Good morning all, Anyone know the size of the Variable Timing Solenoid Oring? I'm replacing a leaking gasket and thought I might as well pull it apart and clean the actuator/screens too. I know the manual doesn't call out the oring , but if it looks bad I would like...

Re: Oil leak = Tune Up Time

That sir is a most interesting fact. I'll send the ones I got from RA back because after watching a few YT videos, they ain't gonna work. Question: Are the spark plug tube seal a common point of failure? Are they at least good enough for 1 R&R? Believe it or not but I think Z1 might have the bes...

Oil leak = Tune Up Time

So I found a Cam Position Sensor leaking oil, passenger side of course, and the start of a valve cover gasket leaking, naturally the passenger side also, sooo.. 2 new Hitachi Cam Position Sensors, Rock Auto $38 ea. I believe OEM sensors were Hitachi. Good Price I think. Both valve cover gaskets, Roc...

Re: Blower motor when cold.

This ones a wrap. Pull the trim in the front corner, 3X5.5mm screws, and the blower drops right into your hand. Couldn't have been any easier. It didn't really look terrible or seem to be too tight but the problem did occur when it was really cold and it was pretty warm in the garage. I'll leave for...
