Re: '05 R51 Mode 6 Data - Details

Thanks so much! Through what I've observed on the web, Nissan does not expose the misfire counters directly, and this data is only seen through open OBD Mode 6 data. They are not the only Manufacturer apparently that does this - not sure why. I'm leaning to what you are saying - I think this data wo...

Re: Oil Change 5 miles ago : )

you are a hero! Interesting that you've dropped into the 0W-40 category. This oil has "Nissan Genuine Performances" approval on the M1 Website. Unsure what this specifically means. In that 0W spec, would it have a higher detergent package to goes with? I'm assuming that Euro specs drive th...

'05 R51 Mode 6 Data - Details

Is there a listing of available OBD Mode 6 data for each model year planted somewhere?

looking for misfire counters, etc, and wondering if there is a listing of this somewhere so that I don't need to chase for a mysterious tool to find this information if not available.

Thank you all for any help.

Re: Clockspring Repair - $20

Added pictures of the open clock spring. Maybe I'm getting toooooo frugal now... It's a $20 fix if you have the patience, a screw driver, and a cheap Chinese website to obtain a ribbon. Everything works perfectly so far, smooth and no evidence of rattling. Open the cover on the clock spring https://...

De-Pin of Nissan Connectors

I thought I would add some decent pictures of what the pins look for Nissan electrical connectors. Some videos on the web, but very hard to see what's going on, even from video. Maybe some stills will help folks see what needs to be done. This is the wiring harness for the steering wheel controls. T...

What's Back There anyway...

I had a little spare time and decided to chop out a rear quarter panel at a local U-pick.
I thought folks might be interested what the skeleton looks like...
Rear AC is visible, here....

Added photos for reference.
Pump
Retaining Ring - O ring
Connector
Rubber seal that plugs into the tank.

Small ring needs to be lifted up, off a slot on the tank, and you just pull the washer pump out.

you just plugged the line? Interesting. I wonder what if any penalty there is in doing this.

Re: Replace stock sus with Moog/Bilstein?

I loved the change the Bilsteins performed, by themselves.
Obvious that more may be needed here, as, bump stops are being hit, and more coils will stiffen it.

Re: My R51

Thanks for getting on here.

Decent amount of miles, and the '05.

I'm always thinking to myself how well made these vehicles were made, as a pilot, in 2005.
(Apart from early radiator issues of course)

Welcome.

Washer Pump Motor - Nissan Part #28920-7S000

Washer pump motor died and the replacement from Nissan is the entire reservoir for the R51. Up here, $218 CND. YMMV. I wasn't quick to believe that they never sold the actual part by itself, so, dove into RockAuto, and they cross-referenced it to Nissan #28920-7S000 (Xterra, Pathfinder and Armada). ...

Re: Replace stock sus with Moog/Bilstein?

I'd go with the Bills, and if the OEM springs are worn, maybe consider OEM spring replacement as well.

Re: Loss of power in 4low going up steep hill

In reading some information from our friends at Frontier forums, it appears that some programming changes were made after the '09 model year in relation to throttle position / rpm / speed. There is some sort of open throttle / speed limiter programmed in that may cause something like this. Some have...
