The Michelin LTX AT2 isn't really super cheap, but seems to fit the bill pretty well. I've been happy with mine so far.

I did the mod a few years ago and I tow 3 trailers a lot: 1- 6'x5' enclosed trailer that I bought for football tailgating is about 800-900lbs and is about the same height as the Pathfinder. When empty it bounces a little so I can feel that back there, otherwise, it tows like it isn't even there. I p...

Re: Breaks seem to be sticking or grabbing on 06 Path

Could be just what it sounds like. I had my right front caliper fail on my '06 about 2 years ago. Notice that the front brake was getting really hot and making noise...had to replace the caliper (of course also did pads/rotors as they were trashed).

Have you called the trans. shop that put the last one in for you? Sounds like they should be the one going to bat for you here. They put in a unit, and presumably got paid for it (by the extended warranty company) that shizzed the bed in a very short period of time. Any good shop should take care of...

Wow, we got about 2" of snow last night then the freezing rain started and turned everything in a 0.5" layer of glare ice. I just drove 10 miles to work due to a few important meetings later today at 5:30am and NO ONE was on the road. The Pathfinder with Mich. LTX AT2's was amazing. We get...

I'm at my office in the middle of the work day, so I can't really run out to the lot and check, but I THINK that the light also comes on in 4LO right?

I too was very impressed last year even with the stock General tires. They did pretty good in the snow (not good on ice....) and unless there was a steep hill or very deep snow I could run in 2wd. Haven't had more than a few inches yet this year so really can't comment on how much better (hopefully...

At 4,000lbs you are right in the ballpark of where we are with the boat, you might be a little lighter. Pulls just fine at a bit over 70MPH for us and jumps from about 11MPG to about 14-14.5 with the speed increase.

Your logic makes sense to me. I tow with mine also - in 4th gear if I'm going <65 the RPMs vary a lot at a constant speed. When I get to 70-72ish it seems to hold in there at a consistent RPM much better. I have confirmed that with our boat in tow I get much better MPG at the faster speed where RPM ...

My early model year 2006's battery gave it up this summer (so figure it was about a 4.5 year life). Replaced it with a Duralast Gold (Autozone is near my house and opens at 7AM so that was the winner).

Doooahh... I just had a set of Michelin LTX A/T2's installed last week. Oh well, I ended up at $696.28+tax mounted/balanced/lifetime balance/lifetime rotation/Nitrogen fill. Not going to complain about that too much.

I also did shocks too, got the Monroe Shocktober Fest rebate there (about $79).

Well after somewhere in the ball park of 50K miles I'm going to get rid of these tires. They still have some life left, but are pretty much done.

I'm going to switch it up and try some Mich. AT2's and see how it goes. They are similar price and seem to get decent reviews.

Any thoughts?

Good to know there is access from the inside like that - I had thought of popping off the inside, but was worried that I would do all of that work only to find that I couldn't actually get where I needed to be.

I find that for a common trailer, I use a little more drop than most people, as the Pathfinder's hitch sits high into the bumper rather than below it. I use a 4.5" drop to level out my boat and it's also really close with my utility trailer too. I do have a few different tongues with different ...

Silly Question - License Plate Screws

Here is a new one: When I bought my 2006 I installed the license plate using the two screws provided by the dealer/Nissan. Now 4.5 years later I need to change my plate...and can't get the #$&@ screw out of one side. Both have some rust on them, one side comes right now, BUT the other side seems...
