Re: PF new and used lubricants analysis

I forgot to ask something about the oil analysis... Did you have a cold air intake or drop in filter?

If you have a CAI without the foam wrap or dry filter charger that wraps around it, it would filter more.

Re: PF new and used lubricants analysis

This is awesome Greybrick! This is one of the most interesting subjects I've read in any Nissan forum.

Re: 05+ anti-corrosion service points

After more thinking and discussion on another forum, AC lines? The lines are mostly aluminum and no protection whatsoever from rocks, sand... Once nicked or scratched, they'll corrode and once corrosion has gone through... off the body it goes for 2-3 days. I'd have to say, it's not an "05+ ant...

I have heard a couple times of problems with lines to the rear HVAC unit and the lifting of the body needed to replace them. I hadn't heard why though. I think I found the future problem on my SUV. It has 2 rubber tubes zap strapped together, forcing a flare up at one or both ends of the tubes. Thi...

05+ AC lines leaking do to grit and sand

Has anyone heard of AC lines that lead to the rear are getting damaged by sand? Someone at Nissanforums.com is having an issue with that. He's mentioned a zap strap was used to prevent rattling. Well, with this, it flares open a rubber wrap, allowing sand and dirt in and eventually rubbing holes int...

Re: 05+ anti-corrosion service points

Just wondering if any have mapped out all of the anti-corrosion service points on the 05+ PF's. I think I've found most of the important ones, ie: door drains, rocker panels, etc but it would be nice to know all of them to keep those sprayed with a favorite anti-corrosion fluid. . Since you've ment...

Re: Timing chain noise

Anyone know the cost to the owner when the SUV is out of warranty?

What I don't like about the Pathfinder is that it has a small gas tank size. The brochures, owners manual says 80 litres(21 gallons), but I have never filled anywhere near that amount. The most I ever put in the vehicle was around 65 litres(17 gallons), and that was when the DTE read 5km. It uctual...

Re: Rear Hatch Window Leak

Welcome to the forum NPath. No corrosion on these yet but that's a good tip on corrosion proofing the latch nuts, thanks. I think I'll silicone some rubber nut covers over those as well. Adding a thin shim to the upper window hinges should apply a bit more pressure at the top of the window gasket to...

roof rain channel

I was washing and waxing the Pathfinder today and noticed there are several cracks on the channels on the roof. I was pissed off, since I haven't owned it for 2 years yet! They're really small cracks, not gaping ones you'd see on concrete or asphalt. After closer inspection, I noticed they've applie...

Re: Rear Hatch Window Leak

Anybody ever notice the rear hatch window leaking water? I washed mine today, and happened to open the hatch window. I noticed several streaks on the inside where water had run down the glass. It wasn't wet from washing it, but apparently had occured during previous rains. I noticed the same thing ...
