OME lift bad drive experience

Hi, after few years of owning R51 Pathfinder and putting some 300k (kilometers) on her, I decided it is time for springs and shocks change, and a small lift kit. So instead of adding blocks to springs, I instead went into OME lift kit: FRONT OME coil springs model 607 , +30 mm, +40 kg OME Shocks Nit...

Re: Rear door cannot open

Ufff...today I desperatelly needed rear doors to open so I invaded the door gasket in the height of inside door handels, and easily pulled it out from where the lock is. No problem. then with a help of plastic ruler and comparing to the other open doors, I managed to revert "child lock" kn...

Re: P1757 / P1759

Luck is a privilege of the brave ones :) A lot of courage needed to get into disassembly of TCM. I once cleaned all ATM out, opened transmission pan and sprayed TCM from below with brake cleaner and I know it's quite some work from there on...if you work on a lift. But you say no lift, no workshop? ...

Re: Rear door cannot open

Thank you very much, I was afraid there's not other option, but to minimize the damage just the way you described.

What is weird is that rear right doors I almost NEVER opened, maybe once a month when washing the vehicle. Maybe door handle just felt asleep of doing nothing... :D

Rear door cannot open

Hi, well, I've done some stupidity, as we all need to do from time to time :) Rear right door did not want to open from OUTSIDE and stupidly enough, I opened them from inside and thought, well, maybe the "children lock" somehow engaged. And I switched the children lock switcher to another ...

Chasing with wind

Hi, how is your driving in windy conditions? I chase mine Pathfinder significantly even with moderate winds, it's quite unpleasant feeling, especially on longer trips - I am quite exhausted because I work on steering wheel all the time, trying to keep the vehicle in lane. I've done some alignments i...

I have same tires 265/70-R17 (BFG TA-KO2 and previously GY Duratracs) and found them to be dead on point real speed with tacho...
...but only when they were new. I think I've calculated approx. 3mm (1/8'') of tire wear increases tacho displayed speed for approx. 1 mph.

Hmm...problems again.
Anybody knows where A/C compressor relay is located? I've searched through all relays in engine bay, around IPDM box, but none of those is for A/C compressor.
Any idea where else to look?

Most issue related to water wading as from my perspective, are related with sudden temperature drop creating vacuum, thus sucking muddy waters inside, particularly: - rear diff if breather is clogged - all four wheel hubs I did lots of submarine excursions in past years and I exchange rear diff's mu...

I have 3 of them at that position and they go to auto transfer case, front diff and central transmission box. I did stretch them all a bit and positioned them few inches higher. Originally they were clipped together with a 4-way clip to - I think - turbo vacuum pipe? For the 4th breather (rear diff)...

Well, if you are concerned about water getting into cabin via tunnel, then I guess you better get some other vehicle - this one is not meant for deep water wading. Before tunnel gets filled, you will such water: - into cabin via mounting holes on bottom, there are some half dozen of them around - in...

Diesel ticking noise diagnosis

Hi, I know most of you here drive petrol engines, but just maybe somebody might help me to diagnose the issue. The NOISE description: Ticking high-pitch precise metal sound (not hissing, not rattling), like tick, tick, tick, coming from engine only under those conditions: - engine is COLD, so only d...

That's excellent info...about alternate breather hose location. Will do the seal replacement now, just to be on safe side for vacation trip few 1000 miles away. Then will take some time with breather hose after I get back.

Rear diff cover

Hi, is it really necessary to drop the rear diff in order to open diff cover and to clear clogged breather hose? I have clogged breather hose, so each time I dip into water mud is sucked into diff and I need to change oil. So I thought I would open rear diff cover, try to unclog breather lines and c...
