I generally use somewhere between 91 - 93 octane. For the little bit of extra money I spend, I get more power and added cleaners...which over time reduce buildup inside the engine and fuel filter. Both of which rob you of power and mpg down the road. Speaking of CAI's - I've owned and modded a turbo...

Those vidoes are great...yeah you can hear all that popping, pinging and clanking going on...interesting! And at least we know now that those connectors are NOT for the HDC! I have to go by Courtesy for those strut mounts this week anyway. Maybe I'll see if they have the HDC button in stock and pick...

I looked in the engine bay fuse boxes, but couldn't find anything that stood out that would point to the HDC. So just to clarify... If it's working properly after you hit the button (and the conditions are right), you should see something light up on the dash showing it's actively engaged...correct?...

BAD NEWS - I ordered the 9416K148 200lbs struts and it appears the stock threads are different on my 2011.

Here's a close-up
Image
I'll have to order the 4 clips from an 07 or something.

I'll post back with the part number if everything works out.

Can you give us some minimum vehicle requirements/mods?

The trucks in the pics are obviously heavily modified for trail riding.
But I don't think the R51 Pathfinder (for example) in stock form would be able to have much fun there.

Thanks NVSteve! Great pics! Right in the middle of your first pic, behind the black tape wrapped around the wiring and in front of the gray foam...it looks like the same connector (the 2nd one) that I have open as well. Can you confirm that it's not connected to anything? You can also see the brown,...

OK here's a pic of the 2 open connectors (center and bottom right) that are taped to the OBDii plug wires. It's located below the dash on the gas pedal side. http://i39.tinypic.com/34sqn8l.jpg And here's a pic under the dash, just above the brake and gas pedals. http://i42.tinypic.com/348gbxv.jpg I'...

We need to give that diagram and dimensions to a machine shop somewhere and have them make up a big batch for all of us.

Very cool mod!!

I think I'll order the 550lbs ones and charge admission for the kids (and adults) in the neighborhood to Ride The Hatch!

Besides...It'll help pay for the struts!

A extra module makes sense, since I didn't see any place to actually plug in the open connectors. (Or they may just be out of view)

But since those connectors are right next to the brakes, I'd have to say that module/connector must be for the auto braking control.

rragpaoa wrote:Yup, just swap the gears out. Nothing else. It appears that the ECU has programming for both the 2.9 and 3.4 gears so the everything still works, cruise control, ABLS, VDC all good.
Does that include the V6 crowd as well?
I didn't think the diff pumpkins were exactly the same.

It doesn't make sense that the ecu would be programmed different. The easier way would be wiring harness connections. I was just under the dash looking at the OBDii connections for the Volo12 and noticed that there are parts of the wiring harness that are not connected. I have an LE 4x4, so there ar...
